On a different, but kinda related note, when Pierce and Kobe got their supporting star, they were still "the man" on that team. If Lebron leaves to join Miami, he's the supporting star to DWade. There's no way Lebron's ego can handle that.

How is that even comparable? the Heat had zero good players on their team last year outside of Wade, and Toronto signed Hedo Turkoglu for a bajillion dollars while he promptly proceeded to phone it in.

The Cavs were in 1st place last year, and the team that knocked them out of the playoffs is almost certainly going to be worse next year. And keep in mind, it's not like Boston beat Cleveland because Lebron's supporting cast didn't show up. Before Lebron quit(visibly QUIT!) in game 5, Cleveland had handed Boston their worst homecourt loss in playoff history. There is no evidence that CLE was outmatched aside from Rondo vs Williams.

So what. It's not like either were playing for the team based in their hometown, and had a deep connection in that context w/ the team they were playing for.

Allen and KG had played their guts out, and stood by long enough with those T'Wolves and Sonics teams to be able to control their destiny and dictate where they wanted to end their careers (presumably).

They had paid their dues in advance. Lebron's job is not done, he has not delivered, and owes CLE a championship. They have bent over backwards for him, and looks like they'll be grabbding their ankles and bracing for impact now.

Make no mistake, sir. If Lebron goes to Miami, its Wade's team, not Lebron's. Wade will decide who gets the ball and who doesn't, and by extension, who scores and who doesn't. Its hard to be the King, when someone else is puppeteering your stat opportunities. Lebron can't be King if someone else on his team is putting up better stats.

That is why Lebron/Wade/Bosh love triangle, will not work.

So he owes Cleveland? Are you serious? If that is what you really feel then I can't combat that. Its a business, its entertainment. He has performed at the highest level and even exceeded the lofty expectations everybody had for the 18 yr old kid. He owes himself and his family to go to the best situation that he can, period.

How can your nickname be "The King" and your playing second fiddle to someone else on your own team?

This is bad for Lebron and bad for the NBA.

I kinda hope OKC spoils this party for the next 10 years.

I was comparing LeBron to signing with Wade and Bosh to Bosh and Wade signing with LeBron... not their teams or any of that. People are using the logic that the legacy would be more honorable if LeBron stayed in Cleveland with Bosh and Wade signing with them and I put out a hypothetical.

Maybe we're not understanding each other here.

I disagree, the Celtics are a much deeper, experienced, better-coached team than the Cavs were last season. I would rather have Rondo, Allen, KG, Perkins than Williams, Parker, Jamison, Shaq. And I would rather have Boston's bench. Almost everything about Boston was better except comparing LeBron to Pierce.

Right which is why it would change basketball. Two players coming to join Wade. I dont care for the tv special and all of the shenanigans behind it as you already know but all of this legacy bashing on a guy who doesnt even have a ring is laughable, even moreso than people thinking their personal moral victory means something in this generation of what have you done for me lately sports.

                    Yup.

Also hard to be considered the "King" on that team when the other "King" already has everything that a real "King" should have, which in Wade's case is a ring.

Lebron's stats would go through the roof playing with other talents like himself. I bet he would avg a triple double

Hindsight is 20/20 because it's easy to say that NOW since that Boston team got Cleveland out of there, but coming into the season and even before the postseason, it wasn't a big gap as you're making it seem.

How could you possibly figure that with people taking away touches from him, he could average a triple double? He will have the ball less, and have a legit rebounder on the court with him at all times, and may not even be the primary ballhandler depending on whether or not Wade wants that, there's no way he comes any closer to a triple double than he already is, and in all likelihood, will be farther away.
