Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

I hope I can sum up the feelings right:

The NBA has been built on the best guys competing against each other to see who was best. They made sacrifices to the league to make sure the league could stay afloat because only having two relevant teams would be murderous to the health of a league especially back in the day. Beside that sacrifice they wanted to see who was the best and they were competitors. Bill Russell once said something to the effect of: I only care about winning if I am beating the best. Whats the fun in competing if I am not going against the best. Wilt/Russell, Bird/Magic, etc loved competing against the best and realized it wouldn't be as fun to compete with each other against guys they knew weren't as good as opposed to competing against each other because they loved playing the best. What Wade and Lebron have done is basically that they don't care about beating the best they just want to win and get attention. Whats the fun in a Bron/Wade duo beating guys they already know they are better than as opposed to competing against each other when it isn't necessarily clear who is better. It feels like Mayweather avoiding Pacquiao and fighting some other dude to me. He only cares about his record and not competing against the best.

Edit: But hey if this is what makes Lebron happy, I can't be mad about it but I can realize what it says about Lebron though.

Anyone who knows Dan Gilbert expected nothing less regardless of how it looks. And I promise you there will be more in coming days.

Hell, coverstory on websites around the globe are about Lebron at this very minute and for the past 7 years, Cleveland has ridden his coattails to the NBA finals and a huge economic boom for that area.

Lebron moved on... pro athletes do it all the time. This was news worthy across the freaking planet, of course the media would do everything it could to generate more and more revenue. Its Lebrons life, not ours. Let him do what he wants, he owes none of us anything.

Yeah cause no one would watch. Leaving a team when you're a free agent doesn't make you a sell out. He didn't force a trade or hold out, he left after honoring his contract, while making Gilbert millions of dollars in the process.

I love this mentality that it was all Cleveland's fault for not being able to assemble the pieces necessary for LeBron to win a title with them, as if LeBron had absolutely no say in any of the moves that went down. As if LeBron had nothing to do with them extending Z or bringing in Shaq and Jamison...please, the man runs that organization. If you seriously think any of these moves were made without LeBron's approval, you're high. If there was a move proposed to LeBron that he didn't like, you seriously think Gilbert or Ferry won't heed his word? It's the freakin' Cavaliers. LeBron had as much doing in that team's inability to assemble a champion as anybody in that front office.

We will see...It looks like there is more to the situation...

And it seems like he told the Knicks 30 minutes before. No word on him giving the Cavs any notice.

                    That is just pathetic.

Why is this such a big deal? I love watching the Olympics because I get to see the best players from the country play against each other, and now I get to see that again. It's crazy to me how people who aren't Cavs fans can be mad about this.

Trust me from as who's dealt with Gilbert, I can only imagine what the first draft looked like. This was probably PR team's compromise.
                            I lol'd.

Dan Gilbert doing his best to keep basketball relevant in Cleveland. I love it.

Lebron just taught all those little boys and girls beside him in the interview, that winning is more important then loyalty, his fans, clevelands economy, and home.

Very sad man. How do people justify this? Would you teach your kids this crap? Ive said it over and over, pro sports are not what they once were. There was a time, when it was about the fans, and there home team. Now its all just a bunch of rambling when they say there doing something for the fans. Its a joke. Its all about money, spotlight, and themselves.

You screwed a lot of people tonight Lebron. Buisiness will go under, Cleveland will not be the same. All so you can take the easy road and get YOUR championships. Worst of all you handled this with no class. Made fans wait so you could break there hearts on national TV, for a few more extra dollars. Your a clown.

Personally I wouldnt want a championship I didnt earn. Have fun playing behind wade, the top man on the team, who has a ring. Your Legacy just went in the toilet.
