    Re: The LeBron James Saga

You see... People get sucked into the media so much. I bet you some people still believe Delonte West was sleeping with LeBron James mother lol a report from a he said she said blog. Those tee shirts were funny as hell though "LeBron James may be taking his talents to the South. But Gloria James is going West" lol

If he signed any where for a better chance to win. You can't hate the man. I know I wouldn't.

So you are telling me that Lebron does not play for the Cavs in the playoffs? I mean he certainly did not against Boston in game 5 last season, I'll grant you that.

You have got to be kidding me, with this spin on blaming the team (that he hand picked) for lebrons losses but crediting him for the wins. What kind of sense does that make?
Where did I ever say he ISN'T at fault for the losses as well? I said he had to carry that team, and lead them to the best record in the league 2 years in a row, despite not having the best supporting cast, just like KG, so he had every right to leave, just like KG.

There's a reason that now with LeBron gone people are looking at this team to barely even make the playoffs.

Yeah they do hate him based on a combination of things. But it's not like we're just sitting around waiting for LeBron to do something to jump on it.
MSG is going to be packed with lots of hate on Dec. 17th. NYer's love to give you ****.

Actually I can. I'm a Laker fan so what he does has no effect on me (I dont think the Heat will make it out of the East) but I dislike him for what he did this summer.

I disliked the classless way he left Cle.

            I hated the "decision".

I disliked the fact that he didnt acknowldge the Cleveland fans and thank them for their support.

I disliked that he didnt even call Gilbert and tell him he was leaving like a man.

I disliked that instead of going to a team where he would be the alpha dog (like a player of his caliber should) he chose to be a sidekick.

I disliked that ridiculous celebration they had in Miami with him and that idiot Bosh posing and preening like they've ever won anything.

I hate that his silly *** said they would win 6 championships. My boy Kobe has the biggest ego in the NBA and he would never say some **** like that in public.

See, I'm not a *****. Even when my teams loses like they did in 08 to the Celtics, I was legit happy for KG, Pierce and Allen because they were class acts. After this summer, Lebron is the equivelant to Arod. I dont ever want him to win. Because he took the easy way, I want him to fail every damn year.

There's a reason that now with LeBron gone people are looking at this team to barely even make the playoffs.
Blue, the reason that people are looking at the the current Cavs team to barely even make the playoffs is because the team was built around lebron, it wasn't built for overall team success like say a Laker, Spur or Boston team. You take the center piece off of a team like Cleveland, then the team has no center(piece). Speaking of centers, they also let big Z go, do you think the team makes the playoffs if Big Z would have stayed, Delonte? Very debatable.

Jeebs, there is no way Jeter retires any where but in NY, man. It is beyond wins and losses with certain players. Jeter is the face of the Yankees, there is a measurable intangible value that being a Yankee has for him and the team. Are certain things beyond winning and losing, Jeter legacy is tied to the Yanks, Lebron's legacy, right now is tied to the wind. These things do matter to the great ones.

Why do you keep bringing up KG? When did KG flex his muscles in 'Sota? He didn't even leave the Wolves, he was traded and only after every person in the league had to talk him into it. KG is a terrible example to try to justify anything LeBron has done in his career thus far. Not even touching the fact that KG's decade in Minny is totally different than LeBron's seven whole years in Cleveland

I agree with everything you said.

I use to think the samething about LeBron James.

Ok lets say LeBron stays in Cleveland. Puts up crazy numbers. Wins a few more MVP's. But just keeps coming up short (losing in the finals or worst). Whether because talent around him or him not perform up to his standards. LeBron retires as a Cavs. Mostly likely first ballot even though he doesn't win a ring with all the awards. He basically becomes the guy that played during the Kobe era. Patrick Ewing, Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley and etc etc. Great Great players...

Bosh had already said he was signing with the Heat. Meaning Dwayne Wade would have a major piece in his pocket. Knicks and Bulls great outlooks....But they wouldn't offer the chance to win a championship from the jump.

To some great ones, sure. But there's plenty of great players in all sports who aren't tied to just one franchise.

We talking about Jeter. Without a doubt he is tied to the Yankees, Montana to the 49ers, Jordan to the Bulls, Pippin to the Bulls, Shaq to the Lakers. The difference in all of these great Champs and Jeter is that, the Owners of the team love Jeter and to the Yankees the loyalty thing goes a long way.

You take the center piece off of a team like Cleveland, then the team has no center(piece). Speaking of centers, they also let big Z go, do you think the team makes the playoffs if Big Z would have stayed, Delonte? Very debatable.
Big Z and Delonte staying wouldn't have changed anything to do with the Cavs' chances of making the playoffs.

Also, I just don't like the argument about the team being "built around LeBron". Yes it was, but it do you really think it was a great team worthy of winning a championship? No, it wasn't and the only reason they ever had that chance was with LeBron playing 40+ minutes a night and playing his *** off every game. At some point he was going to break down at that pace. He had every right to leave and when you look at it just from a team standpoint (no legacy BS, etc), it was the smart move. This could extend his career a few extra years than if he were to play on the Cavs and still not have a worthy sidekick or sidekicks.

Because KG was part of my point. Nova is saying LeBron is a coward for wanting to go to a team that had a better chance of winning a championship (or at least that's what I took it as), so how are KG and Kobe not cowards for wanting the same thing 3 years ago? I mean yeah Kobe did end up staying, but he would've taken "the easy way out" just as quick as LeBron after having to play with the garbage he was surrounded with after Shaq and Phil left.

Exactly. LeBron stays in Cleveland and (barring him pulling a miracle out his ***, which could have been possible I guess) it's another year of coming up short. And there was a very good possibility that, like you said, his "legacy" ends up being just like Ewing, Reggie, Malone, etc.

I don't know about Shaq being tied to the Lakers. At this point the guy has changed teams so many times I don't think it'll be synonymous that I remember him as a Laker like I think of Jordan as a Bull or Jeter as a Yankee. I'll just remember him as Shaq.
