Re: The LeBron James Thread
LeBron said he merely was passing on the "Karma" thought he had received from someone else. Insisted no intent.
LeBron: "I don't think it was no intent at all. I think everyone looks into everything I say. Everybody looked too far into it."
LeBron on the tweet's origin: "It wasn't even a comment from me. It was someone who sent it to me and I sent it out."
Ira Winderman
Should own up to it LBJEA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Cannot believe people are actually defending "The Decision." Before people even knew the decision he was going to make they were saying how stupid it was and pointless and it was a completely ridiculous thing to do, that show. So you can throw that 'people wouldn't have a problem with it if he picked Cleveland' crap right outta the window. Go back and read the posts here and the columns even from people that worked at ESPN on how terrible an idea and what a show of how bad this made today's athletes look. There is absolutely no way to justify that show, no athlete in the history of sports has done something like that to announce a friggin contract signing and you're not going to tell me LeBron is the biggest star in the history of sports.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
As a crushed Cavs diehard, I will say I honestly believe that he was heavily leaning towards CLE when the "Decision" idea was hatched. I've read that Mav, in his constant effort to justify his existence, started this ball rolling as far back as the AS game, at which point the Cavs were coming off a 13 game win streak without Mo, and with Jamison or whoever on the horizon.
No way was Bron thinking anything but championship at that time, IMO. And since he really is loyal to his inner circle, there was no way he was going to shut down Mavs baby (not to mention the 2 mil or so he made along with a nice producer credit) that late in the game. Would have been classy, but that's maybe not Bron's strong suit. Almost all of Akron is gutta, lol...Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
So the crux of your argument is that other people's opinions on it is the reason it isn't acceptable to others who's opinion is that the whole damn thing wasn't that big of a deal/the progression of what transcendent athletes do.

I swear I feel like watching Star Wars: Episode 3 after reading that because how everything has turned out now is exactly how it was in the movie, LOL.
But yea...that was a good article though.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Nice try, my point is that people trying to say that people wouldn't have had a problem with the show if he stayed with Cleveland can get outta here with that garbage. It's just a general observation that I can't believe that there are still people here actually defending that special.
People would have complained for a few days about how he was being an attention whore, and how the months of speculation was a waste of time. Then, people would have moved on. He wouldn't still be hated like he is now if he stayed in Cleveland.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

The whole "he tore the hearts out of Cavs fans on national television and THAT WAS APPALLING" nonsense is laughably obtuse because the Cavs organization were the ones that were, like a fiending ex, sitting by the telephone saying "HE'S GONNA REALIZE JUST WHAT HE'S GOT WITH ME I KNOW IT" and were so terribly managed that the notion that he wasn't staying was construed as a shock.
Why do I defend The Decision? Because LeBron was in the right. He made the right decision for his career and for himself, and there's a lot of people in NBA land that are miffed because of this laughable 'Jordan Alpha Male' standard where every player is aiming square on 45's number and have to follow his path to the top of the sport to satiate some missing relic from their own childhoods. He didn't take a dump on the floor named Cleveland and say "this is you guys, lol". It was Gilbert, like a spoiled little brat who watched his franchise plummet as a result of his own ineptitude, who fired shots. It was the Cavs fans in parking lots burning jersey's not fifteen minutes after the whole thing went down. It was local news coverage railing against a guy they'd been sucking off mere hours before for not "getting it" because he didn't stay in the underdog midwestern town.
Someone doesn't agree with you. Too bad, right?Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
The reason why people defend it is because, even if we are huge fans of the sport, the actual reasoning for slamming it is in the eye of the beholder. Again, James didn't take shots at his former organization on the way out. The Cavs knew from the fact that he wasn't talking that something was up, and could've gone on the AP Wire before the special and said "LeBron isn't coming home".

Re: The LeBron James Thread
SMH how many times can we go around in this circle in this thread? I realize he wouldn't be hated like he is now if he stayed in Cleveland, I didn't say that he still would be, but for people to try to act like the only reason people had a problem with the special is because he didn't stay in Cleveland is just ridiculous. No matter where he chose to go people were going to continue dissing that hour long special.
Awesome. So LeBron didn't do anything wrong, cool. You live with what you think and I'll live with what I think. I think it's fine for LeBron to go wherever he wants to further his career and further his journey to one billion dollars. As a basketball fan I'm disappointed that he chose the route that he did and felt he needed to team up with another top five player to accomplish it. However what I feel isn't fine is have a damn one hour television special to announce The Decision knowing what he had been working on at least since the All-Star break of last year and knowing that cameras would be setup in Cleveland to capture the absolute moment that he ripped the heart out of a city that was already a laughing stock throughout the country and panned for the sports misery it'd been through for YEARS. Whatever though man, we aren't changing each others opinions on this so let's just forget it.
So you would rather him rot away in Cleveland year after year winning all the individual awards and getting sent home early in the playoffs?Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
One could have asked the same question of Michael Jordan back with the Bulls. He didn't take off and run and it turned out pretty well for him. Cleveland was making moves against a running clock against themselves, partly they're fault, partly LeBron's fault. Again whatever, I'm done repeating myself in this thread, it's going to make my head explode typing the same stuff from the summer over and over again.Comment
