    Re: The LeBron James Thread

I LOVE that this thread is still going strong despite the lockout.

In 50 years when our kids/grandkids are on OS this will be known as the most legendary thread this site has ever seen.

Man, even a year on...it just still seems so wrong to see LeBron "not" wearing a Cavs uniform.

One or two championships for the Cavs = he goes down as an all time legend / local legend / the ultimate championship.

Dirk getting that one ring for the Mavs = worth more than 4 if Dirk had of jumped ship and gone to LA and won 4 with Kobe.

Franchise player, local hero winning a ring = the ultimate. Then failing against a single superstar in Dirk...when LeBron had Wade and Bosh, just amazing irony. After LeBron said "one guy can't do it"......amazing irony.

It's a damm shame the way it's all worked out.

While Dirk was the only superstar on that team saying he "did it alone" just isn't accurate. Cuban still spent a ton of money on that team and it was better than any team Lebron had in Cleveland.

Totally agree. I wouldn't say Dirk won it by himself. He did have a lot of help. But like the Da Throne said Mark Cuban has spent a lot of money on that Dallas team. And I'm not even talking about the players salaries. The whole thing has been a lot of money. I still don't think the Cavs owner would do anything remotely that Mark Cuban has done. I think LeBron was more on his way to becoming Charles Barkley than a local hero.

I'm still kind of surprised a zone-shooting team beat a old school defense first team. Changing of the guards?

                          ^^ Probably ^^

I mean after game one. I think that what most of the chatter was about. That Dirk wasn't getting any help. I still say untill this day. Game 2 the Heat blew that lead. As much respect I for Dallas for fighting until the very end (and winning). I blame the Heat in the long run. They come out and win game 3 in Dallas (Dirk misses shot to tie at the end of the game). And then after the LeBron just stop playing all together or stop trying to score.

No doubt I didn't think Dallas had a chance, but like you said that was before LeBron check out of the series. Hate to bring it up again. I don't understand how you could have watched LeBron all post season then watched him in the 4th quarter of game 3 and all of game 4 and not come away feeling like he just had a bitch-fit and took the attitude of "do it without me then".

Cleveland surrounded LeBron with the perfect combination of players according to the media. Mike Brown's coaching and LeBron's style of play didn't get the most out of Hughes, Jamison, Williams, Varajao, Parker, Shaq, ect. Generally, it is the superstar's responsibility to get the players working in harmony.

I thought those Cleveland team were running at max harmony lol. They just didn't have enough talent compared to the teams they lost to. Or they just didn't have enough balance between Superstar and role players possession wise.
