Could Mario Chalmers be the new Rondo?
When the big three came together in Boston everyone was saying that they don't think rondo was ready for that type of pressure but he proved everyone wrong. So can chalmers be the new rondo??The EAGLES Are The Most Dominate Team In The NFC Beast And The Best Team In The League, I Will BLEED GREEN For The Rest Of My Life, So To Any Team Who Thinks They Can Test Us Then If You Want Some Then Come Get Some. No. He probably won't start. But LeBron can be the new Magic Johnson.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Chalmers will never be Rondo. I think the development of Rajon Rondo has surpassed anyone's wildest dreamsComment

I figured it would be LeBron at point, with Mike Miller at small forward. We'll see.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Could Mario chalmers be the new Rondo????
If Mario can keep those SPG numbers up the fast break game in MIA will be off the chain!
He doesn't have to be Rondo. All he has to do is work on hitting that open 3 and maintaining that level of D.
My vote is no he's not the next Rondo. But he can still carve out a nice career and be "Mario Chalmers: unsung x-factor"Comment

Re: Could Mario chalmers be the new Rondo????
Chalmers is a solid defender and he can drive the lane effectively at times, but he won't get the ball in hands very much with the teammates he now has.IT'S GREAT TO BEA MIAMI HURRICANE"At exactly which point do we start to realizeThat a life without knowledge is death in disguise?"Comment

Re: Could Mario chalmers be the new Rondo????
Who knows really? This could take his game to new heights.....we just dont know. Maybe not Rondo's level....but I definitely expect him to improve..
Let the 08 Rondo thread tell it....theres no way the Celtics could go deep in the playoffs with him lol..Comment

This is what I mean, who knew how good rondo was until the big 3 was assemble. Same thing might happen to Mario and I think he actually has a jumperThe EAGLES Are The Most Dominate Team In The NFC Beast And The Best Team In The League, I Will BLEED GREEN For The Rest Of My Life, So To Any Team Who Thinks They Can Test Us Then If You Want Some Then Come Get Some. Re: Could Mario chalmers be the new Rondo????
Chalmers is a scorer...Only way he will make a name for his self is by hitting big shots and alot of 3's...
Basically if he's mention as a top 5 PG..we would have a new Billups...Comment

Re: Could Mario Chalmers be the new Rondo?
First off Boston's situation is much different from Miami's. Despite Boston's Big 3 they still needed a distributing PG and Ray Ray and KG aren't ball-dominant perimeter players like LBJ and Wade. Even Pierce isn't on there level in terms of how often he has the ball in his hands.
I don't think Chalmers will even start and if he does he'll still be playing typical backup PG minutes. As Juke said, Chalmers isn't even a similar type of PG as Rondo is. Plus with Wade and LBJ having the ball so much I don't see any chance that he's more than an average role player."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
