If we assume both will be healthy, the situation is perfect for Bynum to be the best he can be... not the same for Paul. Gasol is not a great center and Odom is an average PF. They're both best doing spot duty in those roles. The Lakers don't need to adjust the entire make up of their rotation and offensive sets. Again, they've been to the finals 3 years straight with basically the core and offense that they've all learned and been tweaking for much longer. If that weren't the case then maybe (and only bc of health concerns with Bynum bc people underestimate the value of a TRUE center in the NBA these days).
This. The Lakers don't need an all-star PG. They just need someone like Fisher. However, they most certainly need Bynum. He's the big body that the Heat have absolutely no chance of being able to defend. There's no way the Heat can stop Gasol, Odom, and Bynum. If it's just Gasol and Odom, it's much more do-able.

Bynum, Sasha, 2 1sts and Walton for Okafor and Paul.
I think that's more reasonable. LA would want Okafor and NOH would want to get rid of Oak's contract

This incorrect. The only players the Knicks cannot trade right now are:

        STAT
        FELTON
        MOSGOV

because they were signed as FA. & can't be traded until DEC 15TH.

Everyone else can be traded including the players we got in the D-LEE trade..

That doesn't make it incorrect. Who are the Knicks going to offer that will make a team trade them Chris Paul?

I was addressing the part about our NEW Players & when they can be traded.

As for what the Knicks can offer they can offer a couple of pieces to start such as Gallo/Chandler or Randolph/Chandler though I think Gallo/Randolph will be want they would probably want. You'll probably would have to add Curry & his expiring, plus I would think a Toney Douglas & picks for CP3 & Okafer.

Personally I'm not sure If I make a deal which would probably have to include both Gallo & AR together.

                  re: paul and bynum

i'm not saying paul isn't better than bynum, that much is clear. however, bynum's value to the lakers vs. paul's perceived value to them is the discrepancy. the sheer lack of quality centers in the nba spikes bynum's value tremendously, while the amount of quality point guards lessens paul's. again, i consider him a top 3 point guard, likely the best, but a top big man trumps a top point guard, especially in the lakers' case. phil jackson has never had, nor seemed to desire, a great point guard. we've seen what he can do with quality bigs. why change what works when no one has stopped it thus far?

                      Yeah

New Orleans will want Okafor gone too, and the Knicks don't have enough contracts to make it work.

Cebby If I'm not mistaken, since the Knicks are UNDER the CAP they don't have match dollar 4 dollar on a trade correct?

under the cap or not, they can make it a 3 team deal also.

I believe we can't traded our 1st rd picks in the next 2 years because of the trade with Houston, but we do have 2nd round picks. We also have CASH...

Even if that's what you were addressing, that's not what he was saying. In the tone of a strong opinion (rather than fact), the Knicks don't have what it takes to trade for Paul. This isn't a sign and trade situation like with the FA talk earlier. NO doesn't have to send Paul anywhere, and if they do they aren't going to take scraps for him. No offense, but when we're talking about Paul, those players you're trying to piece together are scraps.

Knew this was coming. Hopefully this is like when Kobe was asking for a trade. And the Hornets get off their *** and get him some real help. But with 2 yrs on his contract there's no way I trade him this year. Atleast not at the beginning of this year.
