And Amar'e is just a more athletic David West. Even the stats back that up. Amar'e is not a superstar to me.

Superstars don't play on just one end of the court.

having arguably the best or 2nd best PG goes a long way to having a versatile attack. Carmelo isn't THAT far off from Lebron, and Amare and Bosh are equally offense only type players.

With Lebron and Wade, you have two very similar skillsets and a soft Bosh...while paul/carmelo/amare is a little more balanced.

it's the old argument, that duos and trios that complement each other are more effective. Things one player doesn't do well, the other does etc.

having a 1,000 HP car with a generic suspension doesn't mean it's necessarily going to be faster than a more balanced 600 HP car with a racing suspension

You never know whats possible in the NBA nowadays, but ignoring that, I disagree completely. I think that CP3, Melo and Amare is a better 3some than Wade, LBJ and Bosh too.

It would probably come down to the supporting cast, but I like Amare over Bosh. CP3 would most likely tear up whoever is guarding him, and Melo vs. LBJ is pretty much even. If they had anyone that could defend the SG well, they could probably win the series since it's more likely that they could find someone to defend a SG than it is to defend a PG

Bosh isn't a superstar man, he's an all-star player on a bad team, but not close to "the man" that made you fear toronto. Even when Miami was bad, you still feared Wade and his ability to single handedly get you a win. He was the man and everyone knew it. You play Miami, and you focus your entire D around him.

We all know Amare is weak defensively, but believe it or not Bosh is worse. Even Synergy had Bosh as the lowest ranked defensive PF (starter) in 1on1 situations. He got scored upon in over 60-65% of those scenarios, while Amare was a little better.

Salary cap wise, this is impossible.

Assuming Amare's contract is 18 million for 2011 and Felton's contract is 7 million (both underselling), add in 4.36 for Turiaf and 16.4 for Paul and you have 45.76 million dollars.

By these standards Melo would be signing for fewer than 10 million a year and that's in a sign and trade where Chandler, Gallo, Daniels, the Ruskie, and Randolph all leave.

So yeah, this is impossible and even in the wildest dreams of Knicks fans they are significantly worse than the Heat.

I think that CP3, Melo and Amare is a better 3some than Wade, LBJ and Bosh too.
Then you don't watch much NBA basketball.

If you think that CP3/Melo is equal to Wade and Lebron than you're clearly delusional.

people act as if only marginal players fit the triangle.

I dont think thatd be all that terrible though....Its force SVG to run a more conventional offense

                  Paul Carter? Lewis Bass Howard

Paul has a poor mans (but more atheletic) D West in Bass at the 4
and a rich mans Tyson Chandler in D12

Shades of 08 all over again...except w\ depth

sounds nice in theory, but on a pure basketball perspective, the point guard is the least valuable position in the triangle. If the Lakers add CP3 but give up a Bynum and/or Odom, they become weaker. Simple as that. Offense isn't their problem, it would then be lack of size/girth in the paint and we saw what happened in '08 when they had Turiaf in there.

If the Lakers stray away from the triangle, it also takes away a lot of their strengths (Gasol is the perfect player for this, and Kobe is better suited for it at this stage of his career).

If the Magic made a trade for CP3, Vince has to go.

He's attractive (expires at the end of the year) and makes a lot of cash.

There'd be no reason for Nelson to be there either if CP3 is there, which is why he would have to go as well. Also, the Hornets aren't going to trade CP3 without getting rid of one of their terrible contracts.. which means you have to be willing to take on Okafor or James Posey.

I understand why you want to leave, but come on Chris really, LA? Lame and cheap.

If you come here I might just quit watching the NBA for this generation.

The Lakers would win 60 games a season and Kobe can play in half the games.

while it might be exciting to see superstars battling it out in the playoffs (especially if it's a team you root for), it will be bad for the league if 26 teams have nothing to play for over the 82 game season and first couple of rounds in the playoffs

we don't want a diluted super top heavy league..sort of like the 60's when Boston was winning championships because they were the only star studded team.
