But can we please stop with the Chris Bosh is a superstar garbage. 7 years and 11 career playoff games. Guy is 6'10" and doesn't block shots or play defense. He has never played in a big game in his life. I couldn't but think during the heat celebration (I love celebrations before any titles are won) why is Chris Bosh up there.

I'm sorry if this has been posted in another thread.

Re: Chris Bosh is not a superstar
I think he is ... what he is not, on the other hand, is a franchise type player.
As of now, among all PF superstars/stars he is within the top best D (KG-Duncan-him-Amare-Nowitsky-Boozer-Lee) and he is also within the top best O. He has multiple all star appareances and he is young enough to improve upon his already stellar game. As a reference, he did more than what P. Gasol ever did in MEM (before joining a contender) ... just wait and watch him on this new contender team.
He is not on the level of Wade and LBJ but he is a top player ... him being the third most looked player in this FA wasnt a coincidence.Last edited by ffaacc03; 08-01-2010, 09:44 PM.Comment

Bosh's D is nowhere near the level of Duncan or Garnetts... or anyone good for that matter, in my opinion.
His offense is rock solid, but he's not as good as Amare, Dirk, or Gasol from pretty much anywhere on the court(shooting the 16-23 footer is the only place he's comparable and they're all better then him at that, even) and they all have way better games with their backs to the basket.
Chris Bosh is FOOLS gold... I'm calling it.
When the Heat need someone to show up besides James or/and Wade, Bosh will be the person who needs to... and against the top tier teams, he won't.Last edited by Mo_Magic; 08-01-2010, 09:50 PM.Comment

Re: Chris Bosh is not a superstar
I have to kinda agree. Bosh has not really achieved anything and he's always played on a mediocre team. I've seen guys average 20+ ppg on bad teams and when they get to play for a good team they average 10- points.
Scoring a bunch of points on a bad team is worth much less than scoring more points on a good team.
Having said that, I think he's a good player and I'm not bashing him, but I don't think he deserves a superstar title. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't make an all-star team during the years he will be playing for the Heat. What we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

Re: Chris Bosh is not a superstar
Like Kenny Smith said, "Guys who score a lot of points for bad teams are like looters in a riot"
I'm sorry but a superstar PF should be able to drag a team to the playoffs in a league where over 50% of the league makes the playoffs.NFL - Vikings

Re: Chris Bosh is not a superstar
Is Amar'e a superstar? Would Toronto have done any better with Amar'e than Bosh? What about Phoenix with Bosh instead of Amar'e?As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: Chris Bosh is not a superstar
No Amare isn't a superstar. He dropped 20 and 9 while playing with Steve Nash. All while playing the worst pick and roll defense imaginable and not making any teammates better. Never developing the post-game he so desperately needed to take himself to the next level.
Durant, Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Dwight, Carmelo.
Those are the superstars in the NBA right now. Those are the guys who, as you’re number 1 option, will always have a decent roster in contention. I even hesitate to put Dwight on that list because he allowed himself to be shut down by one on one defense in the ECF. There is a tier of players just about ready to break through (cp3, deron Williams, rajon rondo, I’m sure I’m forgetting somebody). And then there are guys like Amare, Bosh, Boozer, Jefferson, Gasol. If these guys are your 2nd option then you're in really good shape, but if they are you're number one then you're picking in the lottery. I call those guys All-Stars. That last line I took from one of Bill Simmons sports articles.<o></o>Last edited by dsallupinyaarea; 08-01-2010, 11:30 PM.NFL - Vikings

Re: Chris Bosh is not a superstar
Totally agree. I'm having the same arguement with some friends about Monta Ellis.. scoring 25+ PPG on a losing team doesn't make you a franchise superstarMy All-time Favourite players is order:
1.Larry Johnson
2.Kevin Garnett
3.Blake Griffin
4.Ben Wallace
5.Shawn KempComment

Re: Chris Bosh is not a superstar
I would consider a double double average a superstar. PF's and C's dont carry teams into the playoffs, their the accessory guy. That doesnt mean they cant be superstars, just generaly speaking these are not the guys that carry their teams.Comment

Bosh's mid range game is better than Gasol's and Amar'e.Comment

Re: Chris Bosh is not a superstar
I'd have to respectfully disagree. A superstar is supposed to embody more than just statistics. You can't be a superstar and an accessory. Those two things are mutually exclusive.NFL - Vikings
