Yeah, don't understand why he wants out of Denver so bad. He has more pieces there than NJ for sure.

$$$$$$ is why he wants out. But he preferred to go to the Knicks or the Bulls.

In the end, this was really about who was gonna blink first: Melo or the Nuggets and as of now, it's looking like Melo did.

Wow. This is going to be nuts for NBA 2K11 roster makers.

            Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga

The Knicks can now pursue a decent big man with their $ at least, may be the best thing for us long term since we can score as well as anyone in the league already.

I guess Melo was BSing with the "Big 3" of his own. Lopez could be okay as the 3rd piece, if Melo is there a few years down the line I guess they could go after CP3 or Deron. Not sure where that leaves them but it'll be better than they are now obviously.

Billups is still set on demanding a buy out?

Denver now wants 3 picks instead of 2 and that's the only slight holdup in this right now.

Isn't DET still reluctant to take on Petro's contract?

Last I heard, I think they were gonna try to get a 4th team involved but that wouldn't really be an issue since Detroit wants to get rid of Rip and his contract badly, from everything I've read.

If this deal doesn't get done after everything that's gotten out and Rose pushing this deal THIS hard, then we might as well just scrap the whole thing and go with what we got.

This is such a good deal for the Pistons. They aren't giving up a first rounder anymore, correct?

They get rid of a HORRIBLE contract for Hamilton (40 million left), and they get a real solid big man in Murphy with an expiring contract. I've heard they are getting picks too?

I wouldn't mind if the Pistons just took on Petro's deal. It won't be a deal breaker though. He's a big body, and 3.5 million isn't too much because they aren't many guys his size.

Is there any word on other Pistons in the deal? They have Villanueva, Maxiell, Wallace, Monroe, Wilcox, and Jonas Jerebko coming back from injury.

If you add in Murphy and Petro, that is 8 players for 2 positions.

What do you guys think of New Jersey taking on Rips contract? Rip is definitely still a player...his shooting percentages have dropped the last few years but he hasn't had a stable offense around him either. He is shooting 40% from 3 this year though. I'm not sure how he would work with Melo.

Pistons want a 1st rd pick but most likely aren't getting it. They're just getting Petro and Muprhy.

Detroit has 15 players on their roster already though. Can you have 16 if one of those players is on IR?
