I mean it's just not right to say all this **** when you're still wearing a Denver uniform and your team is good enough to compete for a title.

I don't think it's right of him, and I think he's basically put the nail in the coffin with his time in Denver. I mean it's one thing not to sign the extension, it's another to keep talking about how 'it would be a dream to go back home to play' and that 'I'm in a lose lose situation'.

You are now man, but you put it on yourself. If you would have just kept your mouth shut and played out the season, there would have been nothing anyone could have criticized you for.

If you wanted to look out for Denver in terms of them getting assets in return, then you shouldn't have went to the media and showed the world Denver's hand.

All around you're setting yourself up to be criticized.

Agreed. It's just ENOUGH of the talk....enough of the attention-whoring. From all these primadonna types. The teams know the situation, they're smart people, they don't need the player mouthing off at every chance and saying stupid stuff everywhere. It's just irritating.

Shut up and play ball, spoiled brats.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony (NY or Bust?) Thread

"I'm going into my ninth season. I have no time to waste right now," Anthony said. "I want to see the light at the end of the tunnel in my future. That light is a championship."

Anthony added that bringing a title to Denver has always been his dream, but that it may be fading.

"If I feel I can't do it here, I don't think this is the right thing to do," the forward said. "It's just the uncertainty in the future of the organization. It's a lot of things that come into play, contracts, not knowing what's going to happen in the future."

He later reiterated that no contract extension will be about the money.

"At first, a lot of people were saying it's a money situation. It has nothing to do with no type of money," Anthony said. "I don't care about the money. My ultimate at the end of the day is to win and win a championship. Whether I feel like I can do that here, whether I feel like I need to go somewhere else and do it, that's my own ultimate decision.

"You have to have a decision what's best for you and best for your career. Right now, whatever decision I make is going to be the best decision for me."

Barry Bonds played ball and keep his mouth shut, media still hated him for not participating, what exactly should these guys be doing? Tell people what they want to hear?

Way to go on comparing Barry Bonds and how the media treated him to Carmelo Anthony. Well done.

There is a difference between being candid/truthful and having respect for your fanbase who's been loyal to you your entire career.

Still very impressed with that Bonds comparison.

Makes no sense. You can only talk about Carmelo here, but any thread about the trade in general is locked. So we can't talk about anything related to the trade, just that Carmelo is a very indecisive person. Great basketball discussion.

There is already a trade thread on this forum if you look

As for this one....same as the LeBron thread...

Dont derail this thread and I wont be arguing with you about it

Assuming things ... that Anthony agrees to an extendsion and that DEN indeed doesnt want to get Troy ... this trade could become a reality (sorry for how it is presented):

                          1. NJ

                          gives: Harris & Outlaw & 2012 HOU first (CLE) + Murphy & 2013 second r pick (POR) + Favors & James & 2011 NJ first & 2012 GS first picks (DEN)

gets: Anthony & Harrington & Balkman (DEN) + Miller (POR) + Powe (CLE)

                          Rotation:
                          Miller / Morrow / Anthony / Harrington / Lopez
                          Farmar / Vujacic / Balkman / Humphries / Petro / Powe / Uzoh

They obtain their superstar and round him with a more than competitive team.

                          2. DEN

gives: Anthony & Harrington & Balkman (NJ) + Carter (Cut)

gets: Favor & James & 2011 NJ first & 2012 GS first picks (NJ) + Williams & Cunningham (POR) + Sessions & 13$ TPE (CLE)

                          Rotation:
                          Lawson & Billups & Affalo & Favor & Nene
                          Sessions & Smith & Forbes & Cunningham & Andersen & James & Williams

They obtain huge financial flexibility, talented youngs and first picks. To me, by much, the best package for a superstar in the history of the league.

                          3. POR

gives: Williams & Cunningham (DEN) + Miller (NJ) + Oden & Camby (CLE)

gets: Williams & Jamison (CLE) + Murphy & 2013 second r pick (NJ)

                          Rotation:
                          Williams & Mathews & Batum & Jamison & Aldridge
                          Mills & Fernandez & Babbit & Murphy & Pryzbilla & Johnson & (Roy)

They obtain productive players and round their bench, choosing fittable players over young talent. Also an amazing scoring punch to replace the injured Roy. They also adcquire a good expiring, a pick and move away from the Oden era.

                          4. CLE

gives: Sessions & 13$ TPE (DEN) + Williams & Jamison (POR) + Powe (NJ)

gets: Harris & Outlaw & 2012 HOU first (NJ) + Camby & Oden (POR)

                          Rotation:
                          Harris & Parker & Outlaw & Varejao & Camby
                          Gibson & Gee & Moon & Hickson & Hollins & Samuels & Graham

While they give almost all their TPE, they obtain a better/younger PG, a stablished SF, a productive veteran C, a first pick and gamble on a injury prone but talented ex first pick C, that could be resigned at a low cost and offer a low risk/high reward if healthy. Camby would likely retire after this season, granting them a significant capspace along all their other expirings.
