How far is too far for KG?

The Boston Celtics pounded the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, and Charlie Villanueva posted messages on his Twitter account that indicate Kevin Garnett may have made it personal.

One of the tweets says: "KG called me a cancer patient, I'm pissed because, u know how many people died from cancer, and he's tossing it like it's a joke."

Garnett is known for his trash talking on the court. Villanueva suffers from alopecia universalis, a medical condition that results in hair loss. The Detroit forward does not have hair on his head.

The Pistons confirmed that Villanueva posted the tweets but had no further comment.

Another tweet from Villanueva says that Garnett's alleged comments hit home.

"I wouldn't even trip about that, but a cancer patient, I know way 2 many people who passed away from it, and I have a special place 4 those," the tweet reads.

Garnett scored 22 points and had six rebounds in the Celtics' 109-86 victory. Villanueva had 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench for the winless Pistons. Villanueva would like to take the battle off the court.

"KG talks alot of crap, he's prob never been in a fight, I would love to get in a ring with him, I will expose him," another tweet reads.

It's not clear when Garnett might have made the alleged statement, but the two did get into it during the game.

Villanueva was fouled by Garnett en route to the basket with 2:39 to go in the fourth quarter, after which the two exchanged words. Celtics coach Doc Rivers immediately subbed Garnett, but the two were still jawing as he was headed to the bench. At that point, a double technical was called.

Information from ESPNBoston.com's Chris Forsberg contributed to this report.

I don't even know what to say about this one. Trash talking is whatever, but making a connection between alopecia and cancer to joke about the effects of chemotherapy? Really?

KG is a bitch *** ***** so what else is new? LOL

I will ask this: Why did he go run and post this on Twitter for? Don't know about anybody else but if someone called me a name that he knew would offend me, the last thing I'm doing is running on Twitter and telling everyone "I'd expose him. But that's just me.

Charlie is the bitch in this situation. Come on who tweets about what was said on the court? Its a Vet move. Thank god Gary Payton didn't play in this day and age (with tweeting). Man because every night someone would be complaining about him call them names. Anyone remember John Randle from the Vikings?.... He would talk about your mama, brothers, sisters and anything else he could connect you with on the field lol.

KG is an amazing player however, he's one biggest pricks in the NBA. When someone gets up on his face, he runs away. This video shows it all. Watch him run away from McDyess after the stunt he pulls.

CV should of done something instead of posting about it on twitter. Slap him at the back of his head or something lol.

Yeah Charlie is the b*tch, trash talking in the NBA is just unreal. And there is no need to post what someone called you.
Bottom line KG got the better of Charlie and Charlie tatle taled on him like a little kid.
Charlie is on a horrible team and was out played by KG, so to try to get KG back he posted what KG said knowing people would not like KG for it.
I know Larry Bird is my favorite athlete of all time, but if people knew half the things he said on the court they would hate him.
Dude was viscious with his trash talk, he would talk about everything from you momma to your baby sister to your religion during the game. KG is the same way, it pumps him up and makes him play better/harder when he is talking trash.
Charlie is the type that when you would get a lead on him as a little kid he would have quit and takin his ball home.

Trash talking is one thing. But disrepecting millions of families and people who have lost loved ones to cancer is another.

Still doesn't justify talking about cancer patients like that...regardless of whether or not someone will run to a computer to tweet about it.

And I don't know how people make the connection between someone's family members and a cancer joke....Larry Bird or John Randle talking about ****ing someone's mother has nothing to do with people who have watched loved ones battle cancer and lose.

Whether CV should have posted it on twitter, and whether KG was over the line are separate issues. This was way over the line imo.

Re: How far is too far for KG?

It's ridiculous how going to the Celtics and winning seemingly made people forget that KG has always been a gigantic immature prick. This is the same guy that sucker punched Wally Szczerbiak and Rick Rickert in practice.

I would say more about that but it's frowned upon on ths forum.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

I don't think people have forgotten that KG was a ***** just because he was winning. In fact alot of people called him out on it because he wouldn't dare try that mess on a "brotha" and the last time he did, he got his chin checked.

                          Peeler got him good

Anyway I don't care about this "story" one bit. It's minor, it happened, it's fun interweb chatter and nothing more.

In the end the facts still remain:

Charlie still sucks as a bball player and is overpaid, still likes to use his Twitter
KG is still is a trash talker/prick who only barks at soft players who he knows won't retaliate.

But its all on the court. I would of taken it personally if we were walking off the court and he said something like that. But during the heat of the game. Come on....I've heard some really wild things in my day. But in HS...I remember defensive backs went out of their way to find out my mothers name. All game long they talked about my mother using her name. All I did was go out and have 11 catches for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns ( and int for a touchdown as well). After the game most of these guys didn't say a word.

LOL some people are waaaaay too sensitive. How is calling somebody a "Cancer Patient" disrespectful to people with cancer? I dont get how one leads to the other.

Are we never to say cancer again? If we are all PC all the time will that cure cancer?

KG was trying to get into his head. Judging by the outcome it worked.
