Yeah man this years team is awesome. Honestly thought they were ready to be put out to pasture after last year.

Agreed on Anderson too, I was loving his game.

I haven't seen this mentioned, but at the end of the game, after an amazing steal/save by J Kidd, down three the Mav's have the ball to shoot to tie. Dirk lackadaisically one hands the in-bounds pass, tries to dribble it behind his back and David West pokes it loose.

      C'mon Man.

Anywho, this game just goes to show that when Dirk isn't on the floor the Mav's offense is stagnant, we really need Roddy B back so we have someone else that can create their own offense and easy baskets for others.

On that same note, what do the Mav's do at the 2 and 3 positions once he does return from injury? Between Butler, JET, Marion, DeShawn, J.J and the rookie Jones, who loses minutes for Roddy?

I think in the end you take Bosh's contract rather than Beasley's rookie scale deal.

Even though Bosh is soft as ****, he still plays the role of a "big man" much better than Beasley can.

They're both finesse perimeter players offensively, but Bosh is the superior rebounder of the two, and defender as well. Plus he's much less likely to check out mentally than Beasley. They are in this thing to win multiple rings, I'm sure they'd much rather spend the dough on Bosh rather than save some money for a young and questionable/eccentric guy like Beasley.

Plus I have to assume that at some point, the Bosh we all knew in Toronto will reveal itself. Even though he'll still be nothing on defense, hopefully offensively he snaps out of it.

Beasley on that team would expose them even more defensively. Sure he might have more range than Bosh, but in the end you're going to want Bosh's skills set.. at least you can throw the ball into him in the paint at times and expect something good to happen either for himself or for a teammate.

But couldn't you have taken the 10 million difference and made a trade offer for a decent big? Or at least have flexibility for the future. I think this was a big mistake by Riley.

I can't understand why they traded a rookie scale player for nothing especially when Bosh's game and Beasly's are basically the same. I refute Bosh is a superior defender and rebounder, especially considering that Beasley is a young guy that could have grown into that role with proper coaching. To me this is the biggest flaw of the Heats plan.

I think this was all about off the court things.

Now you're talking about something a bit different, in should they have signed Bosh or signed a few "scrappy" big men for cheaper deals.

Also I can't see anyway that Beasely is a better post defender than Bosh, so you're gonna have to explain that. They both suck balls at defense, but Bosh is the choice and for rebounds as well. I believe this is just due to him being more lengthy/tall than Beasley.

Once again, this team wants to win this year, so they had no time to wait for this weed smoking youngster to develop. He was piss poor last year, whether that was coaching or whatever, he really didn't show anything. Plus it would be a questionable fit with Wade/LBJ already on the team.. Beasley can have the ball in his hands all night on the Wolves...

You could sign a few scrappy bigs if you don't sign Bosh. That was the whole point of my post.

I agree both are terrible defenders at the 4. Rebounding is a mixed bag for both of them also.

Well sure they might not be on Jordan levels when it comes to work ethic, but they do put in work MOST of the time. That's why when Bosh said what he said, I was like "what?!".

I don't know if the same can be said for LeBron and Wade, but looking at just this season, it seems to me like Bosh was the one that went to Miami almost primarily for the fact that it was Miami. Just judging from his play and his attitude it seems like he's the one that's been partying all night and not giving much of a ****, which is strange in a way because in Toronto he came off as a hard working guy. But I guess after a good 7 years or so of that, he just wants to not work as hard as he did in the past.

                  Who knows though...I'm probably overreacting.

Initially you framed it as Bosh vs. Beasley, and talked about each of their contracts.

So 'signing scrappy bigs' wasn't the point of your post at all.

That's where I chose Bosh over Beasley.

However a separate discussion as to whether they chose wisely with Bosh instead of choosing more defensive minded bigs is an interesting one.

J.R. Smith didn't see the court during the Nuggets' loss to the Suns on Monday night.

According to Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post, coach George Karl decided not to play Smith because he showed up late for the morning's shootaround.

"Coach has also been down on him of late," added Hochman.

Smith has had a history of getting under Karl's skin, and as ESPN's Marc Stein reported Friday in the Weekend Dime, the team is determined to trade him.

Yet, Smith has also been a player the team has looked to move previously, and they've come up empty.

Smith is on an expiring $6 million deal, so that might make him more attractive around the trade deadline for teams looking to ditch salary.

Oklahoma most definitely should not. J.R. Smith has an intelligence deficiency and would slaughter any chemistry the team has.

OKC desperately needs another three-point shooter outside of KD/Harden.

JR Smith is in a contract year... so if anything OKC could just release him at season's end if he continues to act like an idiot.

He's a moron who will do something really stupid against the competition in the playoffs, by then it will be too late.

35 foot airballed 3, stupid technical because he's a thug who doesn't know when to shut up, etc.

And the other team will most certainly take advantage of it and edge out a win.

....thats what happens when you have morons like JR Smith on your team.

There are other three point shooters who could be available that don't have the IQ (bball and actual) of a ****ing bottle cap.

Yeah, I don't disagree with anything you said at all, I wouldn't want him on my team.

I hope OKC can add another shooter and in the future another post player.
