I honestly think he wants to leave but fears the consequences. I'm sure he likes Orlando but I think he also wants to win and knows he'll have a better chance elsewhere. But when push came to shove he couldn't pull the trigger because he doesn't want people to dislike him for leaving."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."
Ricky Davis"The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits." Albert Einstein -
"I have been given some bad advice" according to him.
Meanwhile Deron kept his mouth shut and did it right.
Dwight is a people pleaser and with all the people wanting him to do different things he crumbled, it seems. His motives are unclear. He wants to win but won't name. CHI or OKC, but NJ (I get the Deron angle though)?
Either way this all goes down again next year and it'll be whether he signs an extension
Negativity gets to Dwight, to the point he said he was losing sleep and fasting. You think Deron had those problems? Then again Dwights whole career has been around Disneyworld so there's more "sentimental" value in that.

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Maybe because the lack of college? If you think about it like this, in the last couple of years, the drama of free agency/trade demands has gone down with Howard, LeBron, Melo, and Kobe a couple of years ago. With the exception of Melo, they all are straight from high school players.
Maybe I'm reaching here but the lack of maturity shows out more from the high school players than those who spent some time in college. If you look at an anti-Howard example of handling a 'trade me or let me go situation' look at how Chris Paul handled that earlier this year. A guy who spent two years in college. From my recollection, he didn't say anything that would shed a negative light on him nor did he demand that he go to this team or that team. Paul played it cool and let the chips fall where they may.
Now, I'm not saying that college is gonna make most of these guys more mature. Trust me, there are a lot of ignorant folks out here with bachelors and masters degrees. BUT it does seem to have some affect on how they handle tough decisions.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. I don't know if college/no college has to do with it. Bosh wasn't exactly the best departure either.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Yeah. I was just throwing it out there. However, just like with Melo, Bosh was a one-and-done player. Not quite a straight from high school player but close enough.
Drewski also brought up another Anti-Howard example of Deron Williams. Both Williams and Paul have at least 2 years of college.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

I'm not sure Chris Paul is a good person to bring up in terms of "amicable divorces" from their original teams.
Dude was awful.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Why not? I thought he handled that situation as best as he could. I know there was a lot of stuff out there about him wanting to go to New York BUT Paul did come out and denied that.
And that situation got really out of hand when he originally was traded to the Lakers and the league rescinded the trade. That wasn't Paul's fault at all.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
I know with Williams, part of the reason he's handled his better is because he didn't want it to be a season long distraction and have to deal with the constant questions of "Is he staying or going(although he hears it from the local media but not as much as one would think)so he just said from the beginning that he was going to opt out regardless of how the team fared. He prevented it from even getting a chance to snowball over the season and become a distraction.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Without getting into too many specifics since I can't remember it all....
He was throwing hissy fits, changing which team he wanted to go to like, daily. "Settled" for the Clippers when he didnt get his top choices. Threatened/talked about not showing up to practice after the trade was rescinded, forcing people's hands overall. Boston had a deal and he basically forced NO to say no, etc.
Just a mess.Comment

Yeah, CP3's situation prior to the LAL Deal wasn't exactly squeaky clean either.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
SidVish nailed it. Guy is afraid to be hated. If that's a good or bad thing who knows. During the press conference LeBron was brought up, this shows that he was thinking of the LeBron situation, which LeBron was (is?) obviously hated for the Decision. I just think Howard wants to leave but is afraid to do so."To the last minute, to the last second, to the last man, we fight"Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
I must have missed that extra stuff with Chris Paul. I know reports said that his top choice was the Knicks. Sources said that it was his agent that made that request. Paul was actually quoted saying that he denied that. I thought that was a good move to get out there and deny that. If your agent is out there running wild, you need to put a stop to it.
And can you blame Paul for ALMOST not showing up to practice after that trade debacle? ****, everybody had a bad word to say to David Stern. You go through a lockout and right after that you pull this bull****. I'm surprised Paul didn't sue the league for that.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
He had no case to sue them, lol. The league was well within their right to do what they did, considering the other teams own the Hornets.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
It's a trade rumor though, why else would he confirm it's true especially if he's already on a different team? And he really didn't deny anything if you remember the quotes:
“It is just rumors; you can’t control it,’’ Paul said. “It’s always going to happen, and it’s part of the game. I’m just happy to be back with my team.’’
Not one time did he ever come out and say he did not want to be traded at all and the only reason why there were reports saying the Knicks were his top choice was because of whole deal at Carmelo's Wedding in 2010 with the whole "We'll form our own Big 3 and take on Lebron, Wade and Bosh" comments.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
How about calling out a guy for basically lying, when you were involved in Cough-gate 2011? Dude mocked another player for being legitimately sick, lied about it saying he and Lebron were truly coughing... then having the audacity to call someone out for something? Douchebag enough?
That's a bigger reason. And I think he's a flopping little vagina who cries to the refs every time he hits the ground.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
