    Re: 11/29-12/5 Game Discussion Thread

MIAMI -- Despite some awkward moments and some tough talk during and after his return to Cleveland this week,
LeBron James and former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Daniel Gibson remain friends.

James said he called Gibson Saturday after Gibson implied in an interview Friday that his four-year friendship with James had been damaged after the Heat's 118-90 win over the Cavs on Thursday.

James implied that Gibson felt he was misquoted and said everything is now patched up between the two.

"Did he say that? Did he actually be quoted as me and LeBron's friendship is [over]?" James said. "I talked to Daniel today and it is all good. We're still friends."
When asked about the conversation before the Cavs took on the Timberwolves in Minneapolis, Gibson didn't want to elaborate to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"Yeah, we did [talk]," Gibson said. "I'd rather not say exactly what it was about. It was more that we're both competitive people. We both want to win. That's what it's all about."
Friday Gibson said he was upset by James coming over and talking to the Cavs bench during the game and also making some gestures to ex-teammates during his 24-point third quarter.
James ended the game with a season-high 38 points.

"He did some things and made some gestures," Gibson said then. "It was some of the things that he'd do when he was here on our team that we would ride with. Him being the opponent he did some of those same things, I, for one, didn't like it."

The reaction James got from ex-teammates became a lingering issue over the last few days. While cameras caught James talking to the Cavs bench on several occasions, most players actually ignored him or gave him a cold reaction.
"I didn't expect too much, I didn't ask for too much for any of my ex-teammates, " James said. "For the most part, everyone's reception was kind of cold."
This is what I noticed from re watching the game on TV...
Wasnt buying any of that "Cavs were acting too friendly" stuff they were trying to feed....

Besides the hug w\ Jawad Williams, (Which went a little longer than Jawad seemed to like) I didnt see any "buddy buddy" stuff...

Why do the refs get a pass on everything? If a Ref does a bad job he should be fired, if its consistent. Why is the only ref offense betting on and rigging games? Why is there no middle ground like inability to call an NBA game properly.

There were 51 fouls in the game. 51. Do you have any idea how slow the NBA Game becomes when refs are blowing their whistles every time a player draws his hand into thin air? Add to that the infinite amount of timeouts coaches are given and you have a sport that slows to a crawl.

In the 3rd and 4th quarter, the Refs were calling a foul per possession, literally, and the Bulls announcers were going crazy as we watched replays which were not even close to being fouls.

Want to know why the Rockets had so many points? 36 attempted free throws. 36!!!!!!!!! The refs literally brought the Rockets back from being down 15+ points. By free throws alone.

The Bulls defense SUCKS, almost as bad as the Cavs, but the ref's incompetence is in the stats.

How many times do we need to argue this point? NBA hires the wrong refs.
So by your logic do you have definitive evidence about the NBA hiring practices?

Do you know all the rules? Do you have any clue why the refs actually call the game the way they do? It is a lot more complex than what you think. Most fans (including myself) don't have the first clues about the nuances of block/charge calls, off the ball foul calls, hand positioning calls.

Tom Thibiduea is your coach. That is probably why you are getting a lot of foul calls.

Your argument looks like a fanboy who lost a game, that is why I made that post. I fear the day when you play OKC. They go to the foul line a lot......

        Gotta love SVG.

A few yrs ago the Heat were playing the Bucks and the Heat was losing in the 1st half. Towards the end of the half, he called his team to foul Gadszuric at mid court every possession. It started to becoming boring, but well within the rules.

Tonight, in the 4t qtr, down by 11, with 3:20 to go, he starts telling his team as soon as the Bucks get the ball, Hack an Aussie.(Bogut, Mr. 43% FT shooter). It worked for a while, Bogut missed 6 in a row, before he made 3 in a row. Once he made 3 in a row, he stopped picking on Bogues and just fouled anyone.

Bucks still prevailed, mostly because 4 heat were sent back to Orlando with a virus, including Howard.

Rose is looking more and more confident with that 3-pt jumper. With that, expect him to be a top 5 scorer in the league next year.

Not trying to be a Boozer apologist or anything but he never publicly changed his mind about any team lol. The whole situation with the Cavs was that the Cavs was saying Boozer made a deal with them behind the scenes and then back out when Utah came with a bigger offer. Boozer never said anything about it until after he was with Utah. Then he said he didn't agree to any kind of deal. Who you believe in that situation is up to you but never said anything about staying with Cleveland. In Utah he first said he might opt out of his deal back in 08-09 but decided to stay when the deadline came. As far as this offseason went Utah didn't really make him an offer and he didn't expect them too. He never once said he was coming back to Utah and Utah didn't come out and say they was going after keeping him aggressively.

He is third in the league in scoring right now. Hopefully with Boozer back now though we won't have to need him to score 26 a night. I would much rather have him at 20 and 10 than 26 and 8. I know that doesn't look like much of a difference but with the 20 and 10 line that means he doesn't have to carry the load all the time.

Boozer didn't say he might opt out...he said he would opt out for sure. But than when he saw all the backlash it recieved, he backed off and said that he might.

Thank goodness the Packers are playing today because it saved me from wasting my time watching this mess on the court today against Boston.

And please Billy King, ship Troy Murphy's sorry *** outta here ASAP. Don't care what you get in return but just get him as far away from this team as possible.

Cavaliers going for Kyrie Irving, I see.

Good. This team blows. Bad. I expect to see Mo, Andy and Jamison traded soon.

Thanks. I knew he had changed his mind about staying in Utah. A few times if I remember the reports correctly over the past two years.
