Re: 12/13-12/19 Game Discussion Thread
Let's see Andre Millers track record......
Philly
Denver
L.A. Clips
I think only Denver he left on good terms.
I personally kind of like Andre's game but he makes no sense playing next to Roy. Brandon Roy is a smart player and he knows basketball.
Every team Miller has played on gets destroyed on transistion defense because Miller is one of a few PG who plays below the elbow. This means no one is back to rotate on the fast break, and of course Miller isn't the fastest guy in the world.
It is a bad match. Roy is obviously hurting from playing with so many different people of the last few years. His athletcism may have diminished but the dude can shoot the ball, create his shots and is better than anyone on that team at creating even with two bad knees.
When he was talking to Portland, Nate told him he would be the starter.
So what happened when training camp rolled around? Moved to the bench for not running and making a certain time [something ridiculous].
So whatever the case was in Miller's past, the fact still remains Portland shot themselves in the foot by:
1. Signing him in the first place, Roy and Miller don't mesh and everyone could see that even before they played one game together
2. Telling Miller he would be the starter then demoting him
Bottom line they treated him unfairly from day 1Comment

When I first saw it I thought Nene threw a huge elbow. They had been going at it a few times up and down the court. That is why the double tech was called. It wasn't a isolated incident.Comment

I wasn't talking about his track record though.

I brought up Millers track record because he signed with LAClips and basically did the same thing. Had a terrible first year, fought with coaches....etc.....he isn't a dude who is well liked by teammates.
Anyway we agree Miller and Roy's games don't match each other. There are very few systems in the NBA that match Millers game....maybe Utah. But the PG not being a deep mid range or 3pt threat is like a dinosaur.Comment

Re: 12/13-12/19 Game Discussion Thread
So by your logic Andre Miller can show up into camp out of shape and it is the organizations fault.....and although I know you prefer linear debates to make your point, didn't you use the exact opposite analysis of Baron Davis's situation?

Miller's style doesn't call for him to be in fantastic condition and from what I can recall the drill Miller didn't pass was just dumb. I'm sure if he ran it again he would have made the time.
My logic is pretty clear and simple: They told him he would start and yet they didn't. Now if Miller came into camp in absolute atrocious shape and it was apparent he hadn't done a damn thing to be ready to produce and help the team right away, that's a different story.Comment

Re: 12/13-12/19 Game Discussion Thread
The Bulls and Nuggets are discussing a trade that would send J.R. Smith to Chicago.
The Denver guard is in the final year of his contract and would give the Bulls another scoring option in their backcourt.

Could be good if it goes through, but it could also blow up in their faces.
Also interested to see what the Bulls would be sending back.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

He looks really robotic and stiff. I thought he would develop and be more smooth with that frame.... but all of his movements are just too calculated. I don't even think he really deserves to be a starter in the NBA yet.Comment

Re: 12/13-12/19 Game Discussion Thread
A simple reward system has contributed to Miami's current eight-game winning streak.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra set parameters that reward his superstars with offensive freedom when they excel on the defensive end.
If Dwyane Wade grabs a defensive rebound, he has the green light to do whatever he wants offensively. If LeBron James makes a defensive stop, he controls his own game on the other end of the court.
"Our job is to defend and then we get rewarded with what we want to do on offense," James said.
