Re: Which is the better stat line of these PGs

No matter WHAT Rondo does, people will doubt his abilities because he has HOF players on his team. The dude could get a quadruple double in 3 straight games and we'd be hearing this same argument.

Why doesn't anyone ask how do you account for everyone shooting so much worse when Rondo isn't in the game?

Rondo finds guys in their spots, and they capitalize because they're open. Any good finisher would make Rondo look just as good. The dude is obviously improving. If he weren't, he would have been averaging 15 assists every year he's been in the league. These HOF players have only been aging, so how can one account for him picking up his stats?

Re: Which is the better stat line of these PGs

At this point, does it really matter what people think of him?

If people think he's good and legit and one of the top PGs in the game then fine.

If people think he's the product of playing next to 3 HOFers for most of his career and could never be "The Man" then fine.

Either way, ya'll are making the SAME arguments that have been made about him over and over, including a few threads on here dedicated TO him where the SAME arguments are being made.

Goodness between this(and any other thread involving Rondo)and the Lebron Thread, it's like one big *** circle being made because the same points are being made over and over and over LOL.

Na, actually the LeBron thread there's a lot of people who were proved wrong about certain topics concerning Cleveland and LeBron. So that's a much different discussion that people can reflect on the past and say 'oh, well gee I was right or wrong about such and such'.

I agree with you on Rondo though. Nothing will change until he goes to another team or the Big 3 retire.

Player A because I likely have a better team if a player is averaging that many points on with a relatively high FG% and that many assists.

For PGs, i prefer pass firsts than scorers and player that plays passing lanes like Rondo

Can we just all agree that all of these PG's are really good at their roles. You can make an arguement for every guy based on the stats you're looking for. We all know who is great at steals, assists, low turnovers, points,FG % it's just what you want.

And plus CP3 and Deron are far and away the best all around point guards in the league.

Far and away? How so? The only reason I would even give them the edge over a Derrick Rose is experience. Also, I gotta give D-Will props because he's from my alma mater and he's clutch (see 2005 Illini/Arizona Elite Eight).

Funny how someone like AI is blamed for putting his teammates in bad shooting situations, but when someone actually does what a PG suppose to do, its not the PG's fault
So Rondo is the reason for KG, Pierce and Allen's success when they've been 20ppg plus scorers BEFORE he graduated high school? Ok...

They're all in their mid 30's right now... Their past is irrelevant. If they were all in their prime you would have a compelling argument, but Rondo is averaging 14 assists with these "old bums" as some of you like to call it.

Hasnt playing w/ Three HOFers since his second season help make Rondo the player he is today?

Well obviously, but I don't really see how that's important here. It's helped him turn into one of the best PGs in the league. Now he helps them just as much if not more than they do him.

Of course playin with 3 HOF helped Rondo mature his game but lets not act like the guy was pure garbage before the big 3...One year before the big 3, he was the 21th pick (those guys dont play in this day and age in the nba) he managed to outplay both West and Telfair, he also put up good assist numbers for a back up...

But just like Pack said, this isnt going anywhere but around the same loop of circles to the same points...

Guess that puts the "O" in OS..

                                <table class="sortable stats_table" id="per_game"><tbody><tr class="full_table"><td align="right">

Here's his game log for his rookie season, notice his assist numbers from games that he started or played over 25mins...

                                http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/player...3026&year=2007

Last 2 months of the season, he averaged around 5apg as a starter.

First year with the big 3, he only averaged 6.6 apg...

Yeah, that support his 13apg for this year...

Every year the Big 3 gets away from their prime, Rondo is reaching his.

A good PG will always make his team better.
