I don't see how this is a safe assumption. Rose has an amazingly high ceiling and is a lot younger than Williams and Paul. I don't think its safe to assume that Rose wont be looking at Willaims and Paul in the rearview mirror next year and beyond.

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Like I said, I won't be mad if someone says "Rose is undoubtedly playing the best ball out of all the PG's this year", but I still wouldn't agree with it.
Really depends on what you want out of your PG. Rose's defense isn't comparable to Paul's, Rose scores more than Paul, their rebounding are similar, CP3 racks up more assists and generally runs his team better than anyone not named Nash. So it depends really.
As far as the overall discussion about what dictates the true MVP, well obviously you must take into account team record as well. I don't think Kobe should have won MVP the few years Shaq left even though he was putting up Godly numbers... because his team wasn't really winning games.
It's a balancing act but for the most part IMO if your team is looking like a top team and you have the best player with the best stats... I'm gonna go with him.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
This year? It's debatable, but overall Paul is still the best and the PG I'd take first out of anyone of them. Depends on what you want more out of your PG really.
I wouldn't be mad if someone were to say "this year, Rose has been playing the 'best' out of all PG's". But I wouldn't say that's a definite.Last edited by jeebs9; 02-14-2011, 02:37 PM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

If D Wade keeps throwing up 41 point games like last night, Lebron can forget about that MVP award.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football

Yea I was thinking the samething.... But I don't know I feel as though LeBron effects the Heat on both sides of the more then Wade does. I think the only way LeBron can really win the award is if the Heat finish first in the East (and he obviously keeps putting up these all around numbers).Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
I hate the fact that all the turnover and strife up until the trade has forced the Suns to only be 27-26, because if you take post-trade results and stretch them out, we'd be on pace for like, 55 wins and Nash would most certainly be in the Top 3 for MVP discussion.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Nash should be in MVP talks out of pure class. Everyone knows that the Suns blew it up this summer, and that Nash doesn't have alot of time left. Does he cry for a trade to get his ring? No, kid goes out with his team, plays hard nightly(and ALWAYS backs his teamates), and starts to get them back in the Race.
Nash is a once in a lifetime player.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Unfortunately, taking a look at the whole season and not just since the deal, we're only 27-26....so he wouldn't be in the discussion. You don't deem someone most valuable in the league if you're only at 10th place. Your points are correct, though.....and incredibly, it could be argued that he's having his best season ever.
Nash has 8 games with 20 points and 15 assists this year. The rest of the league has four.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 02-17-2011, 09:09 AM.Comment

Yea that is pretty sick 20 & 15...
Hopefully Nash will find some where in the off season. You think he has one more year or 2 more. And will he come off the bench for a team?Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
A) He means more to us than he would to any other team.
B) No real options to ship him anywhere anyway.
C) Training staff here is the best in the league.
D) He's still a massive, massive draw at the box office.
E) He's still playing at an un-be-lievable level.
F) He seems to love Phoenix a lot.
G) Throughout all the crap the team has gone through over the years, you've never--not once--heard him bitch for a trade or held the team hostage with attitude, contracts, or anything like that...... unilke the rest of these primadonna attention whores.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 02-17-2011, 09:49 AM.Comment
