If Orlando doesn't finish in the top 3 then he won't get the votes although he is just as deserving as D. Rose IMO. He has carried that team on his back just like Rose has. But I D. Rose so for me of course it's D. Rose all day.

Yup, that's why I said Orlando can sneak in there. But the Bulls have a much easier schedule the rest of the way.

I don't think he necessarily has to fall off. Dwight can sneak in there if he keeps playing at the pace that he is. I just don't think he will outplay DR.

I disagree. One of the big stories of the season has been the emergence of the Bulls and since most of the discussion about MVP to this point has been around Rose and James being MVP, the fact that the Bulls swept the Heat and how they swept the Heat will resonate. So, if the Bulls hold on to the 2nd seed and Rose plays respectably well, I have a hard time seeing Howard sneaking in.

One interesting thing I noticed with the MVP winners. With LeBron loosing 5 games in a row, in the last 25 seasons, only 3 MVP's has suffered through a 5 games or more loosing streak during their MVP season:
Steve Nash, 2005
Allen Iverson, 2001
Michael Jordan, 1988

So far, Rose has only suffered through a two game loosing streak this year. NOW this is not to guarantee Rose the award nor does this excludes LeBron from winning it BUT looking at a historical perspective, Rose's outlook on winning the award looks good right now.

Kobe is top 7ish like he always is, but no I don't think he should be in the discussion. Odom/Pau have been healthy all year and have been playing well.

Yeah I knew it was something like that....we looked absolutely horrible in those games without him, I remember. Kinda cemented his place in the MVP discussion.

As an Orlando fan, I think it should be Dwight. That said, I know I cannot complain if it is Rose. Depending how ORL fnishes, both are worthy, IMO. But the Bull's have had injuries, but look at Orlando's healthy roster and their team rankings on Defense..... undeniable. But it would take Orlando moving into at least the 3 seed for Dwight to have a chance.

I just looked at the standings. Its kind of crazy that Miami is 2.5 behind Chicago and ahead of Orland. It wasnt long ago that they were tied with Boston. They're 4 behind Boston now.

If he played for a halfway decent team Kevin Love would be getting a ton of buzz. He's basically Mr. double-double this year.

Reality dictates that it's going to be Derrick Rose and I wouldn't be upset at all if he does win it.

I don't think he's going to get it. He deserves it, he's earned and it should be his but I got a terrible feeling about it. I can just see some of these moron voters looking at something like 'if we give this to him, he'll be the youngest winner ever, is he better than guys like Kareem, Kobe, Jordan?' It's stupid stuff like that that guys are going to look at and not give it to him.
