Hopefully Nash will find some where in the off season. You think he has one more year or 2 more. And will he come off the bench for a team?
I can't see him coming off the bench, he can probably be a 8+ assist guy for the next 5 years if he wanted.

Always thought it would be interesting to see him go to LA, Phil has never really had a stud PG...

i'm a bit shocked that people are still trying to justify how Rose isn't the best point guard in the league

But Phil offense isn't really for a Star Stud point guard. They is not much ball handling done by the PG. Especially with Odom and Kobe on the floor. Nash is more of a pick and roll type of player.

He isn't the best point guard in the league in my oipinion. You can make a case for every point in this league now (because we have so many good ones). It really comes down to personally preference. You can make a case that each elite pg is a legit MVP candidate (or at least be in the talks)

I think Rose is in the talks of MVP because he was without a few key pieces. And the Bulls were still able to get a nice record.

He should win because he was without his key pieces. He is in the talks because of the way he's playing and because of where the Bulls are, compared to where they were a year ago.

Those who feel Rose is not the best PG in the league feel that way more due to the fact that he isn't your classic PG who is racking up 10 assists every game and shooting about 10-15 shots per game.

Kevin Love gets you 20 points and 15 rebounds, which are MONSTER numbers for a PF....but does anyone really believe he's better than LaMarcus Aldridge who averages about 22 and 9?

The bottom line is Rose is doing what it takes for his team to win games...he plays PG, and is the best basketball PLAYER at that position...so that makes him the best PG.

Picking the best point guard in the NBA this season is like picking which of your children you like the best. You love them all. Unless you don't like your kids.

It is, but what I'm saying is...lets use Rose and Rondo for example. Rose is a better player than Rondo. Rondo puts up more classical PG numbers. Rose plays the same position as Rondo, which means Rose is a better PG. Just because Rose doesn't average double digit assists doesn't make Rondo a better PG.

Also, for those saying Rose shoots too much...what is he supposed to do? His team encourages him to shoot because before, he was too passive. By Rose not shooting, he'd be letting the defense off the hook. Why would he not take advantage of his improved shooting ability, all world athleticism, ability to finish around the basket, etc.?

In mostly any season in the next five years you could use this statement.

I only see Chicago fans saying "Rose is the absolute best this year".

You can't honestly pick a top PG. Sorry.

                            Sure it's all opinions.

That goes without saying. But when all I see are Bulls fans talking up Rose as the #1 PG I feel less convinced.

PG and PF are the two positions where you really can't make a distinction of who the best player is. That isn't even an opinion though, IMO. And really, I believe it's only PF, but I'll give it to Rose this year, he is havin a hell of a season.

What is the criteria for determining who's the best?

For me, it's a combination of impact, stats, physicality, and actual skill-set (offense and defense).

That's just it, it's tough to have a set criteria. I just don't see how you can definitely say it's Rose as the best. I would say your criteria is cool, but it's also somewhat broad.

Now when you look at Dwight, LeBron and Kobe or Wade... you know they're the best at their positions... even then it's somewhat tough to say why they're the best [although you can probably break it down].
