Makes for a nice story, but it doesn't mean he deserves to get MVP.

So when Derrick has a bad game, he continues to hold it agains him as an indictment for why he isn't the MVP throughout the rest of the year. Kobe is the MVP because he's come on since the All-Star break. Since when does half a year make someone an MVP? If the roles were flipped and Derrick was in Kobe's position right now, doing what Kobe is doing and Kobe was in Derrick's position, no way would dudes be talking about 'there's a long way to go in this race' with friggin 12 games left on the schedule.
LOL @ Skip saying the +30 point win against Atlanta in Atlanta on a back to back after a +30 win against Sacremento doesn't count as much because the Atlanta crowd quit. Lol. Oh man, I'll give him this though, man knows what he's doing. Being an idiot pays well sometimes.

I don't see how anyone can say Rose doesn't deserve it. Not saying he's a lock to win but saying that anyone like Rose, Dwight, or LBJ doesn't deserve doesn't make sense to me.

Rose has carried his team on his back since the start of the season. All the way to first place in the East. Past the Celtics, Heat, and Magic. Teams the Bulls were posed to finish behind. Give the man the damn MVP. He has earned it.

Not say that Dwight and Lebron don't deserve to be mentioned, but no way in HELL do they deserve it over Rose.

I stand by the choice of words.

I enjoyed this look at Rose and Kyle Lowry the other day. Think of WP48 as the WAR (baseball stat) of basketball.

see, the reason i can't put my entire faith in those advanced stats... (maybe cause i'm a Rose homer) but how the hell else do the bulls have the best record in the east then? Boston has KG, Pierce, Allen, Rondo, etc etc, so if Rose ISN'T as good as i think he is then how does the core of Rose, Deng, Noah, Boozer even compare to them?

                    Haters gonna hate.

That is why I can't take stat guys seriously. These are the same guys that diss Kobe and make a run that players like Kevin Martin are more efficient because of their calculations. The bottom line is every coach would pick Kobe over Kevin Martin regardless of the crazy percentage statistics. And Lowry and Rose? Really? I don't care what the stats say and this isn't homer talk.

Oh, I got nothing against Chase. The article though.

As I said, we'll see. The true prize is what happens come Playoff time. The MVP, I think Rose deserves it and I hope he gets it. If someone tells me Howard should get it, I won't argue. He also deserves it but to say Rose should be on the outside looking in, I just can't agree.

All this is pretty much why I said a few pages back that until the announcement is made I'm not saying Derrick is a lock for anything cause there's going to be some goof that's voting on this thing with a grudge, doesn't want him to be the youngest, some fluid criteria or anything else that can allow him to convince himself it's okay to not give the award to Derrick despite him earning it from start to finish of this year. Like I said it's always going to be something. Before the Bulls were even sniffing the number one seed dudes were talking about you had to be a top two seed to win the award, Bulls get into second place then you needed to have the top seed in order to get it over guys like Kobe or LeBron, Bulls currently sit in the one seed with 12 to play and now he needs to be more efficient in his advanced stats or he needs to wear less black accessories when he's playing at home or some other ridiculous criteria that Kobe and LeBron never have to deal with when they're clearly the frontrunners for the award. Whatever though. It is what it is.

I would say a lot of it has to do with Chicago's amazing defense and rebounding this year. I mean I know people are recognizing these things about Chitown, but the team is downright nasty on defense. Noah and Asik up the gut is probably the best combo in the league, and then you have a bunch of really athletic swing players that get at it. Rose has improved on the defensive end as well.

And then, yeah, Rose is playing significantly better this year on offense as well, no argument there. Let me be clear that I am in no way trying to say Rose has not stepped his game up this year.

I'm not stopping you from dismissing an entire portion of the game if you really want, but it doesn't really help your cause when you put your fingers in your ears and scream LOUD NOISES. I'd say it's more a mindset than anything else, and whether or not you can incorporate some new ways to look at things on top of the old ones.

And it's not like I'm saying Rose isn't really good, just that Dwight is the MVP and Kyle Lowry is having a really awesome year (and an incredibly awesome second half that has propelled the Rockets). I think that is what is being lost here. I'm simply trying to explain why Dwight is the right choice, especially if you want to look at it from a new school and old school way of thinking.

/senseless rant from random Bulls fan.

There's no agenda here. As a Sixers fan, the team I want to play least in the Playoffs is the Bulls.

Right now, I just think this will end up being the equivalent to the year Iverson won the MVP and Larry Brown won Coach of the Year. Shaq/Duncan were much better MVP candidates that year, but things got rolling and Iverson got the award because of the general play of the team that year.
