For me, it's really anybody taller than 5'8" who is semi-fast and can jump that are the worst to play against...
But seriously, it's mostly the huge guys that maul you every time you touch the ball but never call anything.

Sometimes we shoot for captains and pick teams at my court. More frequently, we start things off by just shooting for first five, second five. My question is: have you guys ever shot for teams, had 7 or 8 players make their shots in a relatively timely fashion, then had it take forever for the last two or three guys to make a free throw?

Happens with relative frequency around my way. That's not really an issue for me though. Some people just can't shoot free throws. My problem is, in the midst of one of those streaks when players miss multiple free throws in a row while shooting for teams, there's always a joker in the house who quips, as if it's a completely originally and terribly creative though, "Maybe we should shoot left-handed layups."

I swear on my life, like clockwork, the minute a guy misses more than two free throws in a row while shooting for teams, somebody's got to break out the left-handed layups joke. And it always seems to be someone different. Then he'll inevitably look around the court, trying to make eye contact, searching for approval of his hilarious joke.

That happens all the time where I play, however, I have never heard the layup part... odd, but at any rate we either shoot for first five or every other. Every other usually makes things a bit more fair, IMO.

The real fat dude how can shoot the lights out from deep, but lazy as hell on D and snowbirds as well. He thinks he's a huge contributor.

It could be the simplest pass, it has to be flashy. Or the simplest shot.



Also, the dude that decides he wants to go Kobe and starts pulling up from Jimmer range .

I'm guilty of this, because I'm "suppose" to be on the block, but when I get hot, I get hot.

The short, overactive dude who thinks he has handles and dribbles all kinds of crazy into the defense, falls down, and expects to get the call.

Played with this dude the other day. I take the ball out, he goes down the court and dribbles it off his foot and out of bounds. Turnover. I think, "Okay, he might not have played in a while". I give him the ball again, he crosses his own-self over and loses the ball. Turnover again. I swear this happened 5 straight times down the court. It got to the point where I just quit going down on offense because he would try to go behind the back while spinning at the same time and get yet another turnover. I swear he ruined the whole game.

There's literally no benefit in streetball though. No free-throws, no foul tally, nothing. Just a chance for you to injure yourself or the other person on the way down after doing that nonsense.

Yup, I'm with you on that one. I knew a player who'd do that too ... about five years ago. Surely one could say just not to jump, but the thought is, what's the point of executing the move? It's a foul drawing maneuver. Why would someone go out of their way to attempt to draw a foul on a jump shot in streetball, forgoing any chance they had of finishing their shot in the process?

Whenever I play with guys like this, after a couple of turnovers, I always call them out, "Hey Hot Sauce, slow your roll."

behind the back pass is part of my arsenal. i'm a big (stereotype: bad passer) but passing is probably the best part of my game. thats one reason i hate so much when i never even touch the ball in the post, cause i usually pass out and find an open shot for a teammate. anyways sometimes the behind the back pass does just enough so the defense can't react quick enough. changes the angle of the pass, comes from where they don't expect it.

behind the back passes have been easy for me for all my life i don't know why lol.
