The jumped ship on those damaged goods and found a replacement at te 4. Ainge is good man. C's fans might not like Perk leaving, but still gotta look to the future too. . .

Except they may have just blown their chance to get a title this year. But we will see what old man Shaq can do.

Shaq needs to sit out the rest of the season, I don't care, just make sure he's healthy for the playoffs.

Woj the DramaQueen is tweeting that the Celtic players are livid at this deal.

The C's have a knack for making ballsy moves that turn out well. I love Perkins, he's the ultimate role playing big man, but Boston probably decided that they do not want to pay him and they decided to get a halfway decent big in Kristic and a good player in Green.

If I'm the front office I definitely would have made this run at the chip with Perkins but they clearly have faith that KG/JO/Shaq/Kristic is enough to win a title while making a move for the future.

Yeah Ainge is pretty ballsy. He must be extremely confident in what he has without Perkins and that Green can offset the loss of Perkins...

I dunno though. With how LA has looked.. and Miami has no bigs... SA doesn't scare Boston... maybe Boston shouldn't worry too much.. but with Chicago maybe even Orlando [Dwight] they have some bigs.... We will see

Boston defended Duhwight one-on-one for about half the series last Spring pretty darn effectively. I doubt they're sweating Orlando up front. Certainly not Miami or the Knicks and any player with length will give Boozer some trouble so I doubt Chicago's front court has them worried.

I mean, even when looking at KG/JO/Shaq/Kristic it's still the second best front court in the league after a healthy LA team.

It would be pretty wild if this move propelled OKC to the Finals and they met up with Boston though.

This trade won't be "final" until we see who gets bought-out and who of that group the Celtics can sign. It'll be interesting to see what happens when all the dust settles on all of this.

As long as the big four stays healthy, this Celtics team can still win a championship. If Shaq can give them some minutes early in games - Big Baby has gotten most of the 4th quarter minutes over Shaq and Perkins when they're healthy, anyway - and if they sign a guy like Murphy, or whatever else, and if Kristic can give the Celtics some solid minutes, well...we'll see.

Reports are already coming in that Sheed would consider return to Boston. Also reports that Murphy wants to join Boston. If true, don't know how you pass on Murphy and sign Sheed instead. Or sign both. We'll see.

Start preparing for the future while still trying to contend? I "like" the move(from an off the court perspective) or at least how Boston is going about it.
