-Westbrook is going to torch either Fisher or Kob
-KD got tons of open looks last year just didn't convert
-Ibaka/Perkins can handle themselves one on one alone against Pau/Andrew/Odom
-Harden/Thabo have both shown their ability to at least compete with Kob defensively
      -Harden has improved drastically offensively
-Collison/Nazr could be valuable as well

Spurs still have their Big 3, but really their bigs don't scare me as much as OKC's do. Even though OKC's bigs can't score, they don't need to. SA's bigs don't scare me on the boards. Duncan doesn't scare me period. Blair almost bothers me more than Duncan does.

      RJ is a shell.

Beyond Manu/Parker, they have what, Hill and Blair and Neal?

I still say SA can beat LA and I wouldn't be surprised but OKC scares me more and matches up better.

Someone explain to me how SA is the only team that can beat LA in the West?

same here jason. OKC will do no better than last year. honestly i could see them only winning one game against us.

currently defense wise, OKC is not where they should or could be for one. Durant and Westbrook are a hell of a duo for sure. but thats all you have to worry about for the most part. Harden is better but he would need to have a monster series for them to win. dont see that happening.

Ibaka and Perkins brings no offense to offset even a below average series from Pau, Bynum and Odom. no way your shutting down all 3 every game.

meanwhile the Spurs have the Big 3. and with a day off between each game, Duncan can be very effective even at his age. RJ can also also contribute especially knowing he will have open 3 point looks due to Parker and Ginobli's penetration. then u still could an effective game or two from Hill or Neal. then theres Blair hustle.

far more worried about the Spurs than OKC.

^^^^^ same thing I said last week. I expect the improvements of both teams to offset each other and and the result to be largely the same: a tough six game series. Ex Carrabba and someone else thought I was really selling OKC short by saying so.

Well last year in the playoffs, their issue was lack of rebounding and lack of bigs, which have been addressed this year. And it's not LA was blowing out OKC in their 4 wins against them last year either.

This OKC team is much improved from last year's squad and are definitely a bigger threat than they were last year.

So it goes seven or LA loses? I think Kobe's knee, Bynum and Barnes will be a big deal. OKC is better, but I dont think they are good enough to push them like Boston did.

I'm not saying LA will lose the series but at the very least, I'd expect another tough series between them with it possibly going 7 games.

They looked OK against Boston last night, but really they are not looking too hot going into the playoffs. That switch is hard to turn on when you're older and more banged up... and you have a team like LA coming at you that's finishing out the season in the fashion they are [and healthy].

Rebounding/defense on Kob/offensive fire power are gonna be the key to mostly any playoff series. When I look at the Spurs, I don't get scared.

When you look at what OKC has in those three departments, I get scared.

But we shall see very soon. I've been keeping tabs on this Thunder team all year and I still believe in my prediction that OKC would have the best chance to dethrone the champs.
Got to agree with you there ex 100%. OKC has looked very good lately compared to the Spurs. I would not be so quick to dismiss Memphis either since they have two people who can check Kobe decently solo(allen, battier) and some good bigs in ZBo and Gasol. Marc always seems to play Pau pretty good. They may be able to steal a game or two depending on LA's mental commitment.

Being able to stop Kobe is close to impossible. What you need to be able to do is guard him half-decently one on one without help/doubling. That's how the Celts beat them in 08 and made things tough in 2010(jesus, tony allen, pierce did admirably against kobe) and how the rockets made things tough for LA in 09 (artest, battier). Also you have to attack the basket often and get out in transition (A set Laker defense is hard to beat right now.) and rebound the ball well on the defensive end. I think the best chance any team has in beating them is making sure Artest and Fisher don't become factors offensively. Sounds rediculous but Fish is clutch and Ron has shown if he doesn't feel a part of the offense he can shut it down in all other areas of a ball game making him a non factor. A motivated Odom is tough to stop with his skill set when he cares. I think if you play physical against Pau he can be rattled a little. Based on what I'm seeing its the Lakers chip to lose and if they don't they will have no one to blame outside of the men they see in the mirror when they wake up in the AM.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Your best source for quality Phoenix Suns news, rumors, analysis, stats and scores from the fan perspective.

WC #3 If you were the Suns FO, are you interested in re-signing Aaron Brooks? What type of deal would you offer him?
SP: No. It's no secret that I am not a fan of Brooks' game and that was before he came here. I didn't like the deal but I expected him to play well and I expected him to be a good locker room guy. Both are not true. I have to be vague sometimes with the lines between my own opinion and those of people in the organization I talk to off the record. With Brooks, there's troubling signs about his willingness to be a back up and we've seen him do some foolish things on the court.

Just since February he's stormed off the floor after he didn't like a decision from his coach in Houston. With the Suns already he was suspended a game for throwing a ball at the ref and then the other night, while no one faults him for standing up for Zabian, his crotch-grabbing, smile and wave act didn't go over well.

Just watching him play, even when he's getting his shot off, he doesn't seem the slightest bit integrated with the team chemistry and you won't find a more welcoming group of players. If you can't fit here...

Publicly, we've heard both Babby and Gentry talk openly about the need to get more bench scoring early in the fourth quarter. They weren't just answering questions either, this was top of mind for them and other players are starting to echo that concern. That's all on Brooks. That's why they traded for him.
Utterly....****ing...infuriating. What a dumb, stupid, HORRIBLE DEAL.

well i guess we will just have to see. as it currently stands, we wouldnt see OKC till the WCF.

the way we are playing now, ill be shocked to see it go 7 honestly.

That was a bad deal especially the way Brooks was stinking up the joint in Houston. Did Dragic have a bad deal or something?
