If the other guys left it close for you and didn't put you away and you make plays to put yourself in position to win in that last minute and a bogus call keeps you from making that last play or god forbid not even give you the chance to make one, it doesn't just get brushed aside because you screwed up before that play. The "right team" is the team who makes the plays at the end of the game. It's hard to be that team when the refs are taking the ball out of your hands.
So would you say the Celtics made the "right" plays? Because in my opinion they did.

Knicks didn't show it to me.

But guys look at the last again play (Allen 3 pointer). You can make severally calls going both ways. Melo clearly fouls PP at the top of the key. Before the the moving screen.

They won the game, more power to them. But there was a foul that SHOULD have been called on the game winner. There was a bogus foul on a play that could have put the Knicks up three (maybe four if they hit a three) and at the very least if things happen the same after that, would have made it an overtime game or at least had Melo be smart enough to not take a three from the parking lot only needing one point to win.

My point is/was you can't just always use the "one play didn't lose you the game" argument for every situation because in this case it pretty much did. Yeah they screwed up in that second half and credit should be given to Boston too, but besides that, they still were in position to win the game and bogus/inconsistent officiating took them out of that position.

Every good team has some sort of NBA Ref home court advantage. It's just historically, the Celtics are unbeatable in the Garden. And the refs are a part of that reason.

The game could have gone either way. KG definitely got away with something on that last play, but excuses should not be made about how the refs lost the game for the Knicks.

Making posts like that doesn't do justice to anyone or anything, because anyone with a pair of eyes saw what happened on that last play. The only reason for posting about the refs is to use it as an excuse. It literally serves no other purpose.

Like I said, the game could have gone either way, but the Celtics turned it on in the second half.

This pretty much sums up my feelings on the NBA these days. The Celtics won and I just...don't really care that much. Why? Because no matter what, all you hear about is how the refs won the game for them. It's the same when the Lakers win. It's the same with Lebron and the Heat, at times. It's the same for most of the NBA - there's always someone else, namely the refs, to point a finger at because they have such a direct impact on the score of the game.

Can't even enjoy watching it, or talking about it, or anything like that because there's always a complaint from everyone. Most of my friends that are C's fans are the same way - bitch about the Lakers, or Lebron, getting calls when the same **** happens for the Cs at times.

It's not something to embrace if everyone uses it as a cop-out.

                The whining needs to stop.

I guess my thing is that the team/fans need to know that going in. No use in complaining about something that will never stop happening.

They were bad calls. Gotta expect them when you play in Boston and you gotta over come them. The Knicks would have won if they didn't decide to hand the ball to Chokelo and instead of Amar'e.

As an outsider, I think this is what Moses what getting defensive about - it's not just Boston. It's LA, Miami, it was Cleveland. And just about every single other NBA game. There are always bad calls in every single game, no matter where it is played. And until perfectly programmed robots become the refs and the human element is taken out of it, there always will be.

Now, I understand you're saying Boston only because you're talking about the context of this specific game/series, but just wanted to point out that is why he might seem "defensive."

Oh, I understand that. And I do agree with him.

But I think there is something to Boston, and their crowd, that the refs are just afraid to make the calls. I think there is a little bit of "extra" home cooking. But they do that because you are good/have been good for so long. It's almost like a respect thing.

But yes, it happens at almost every home court for every good team. It happens in LA, BOS, MIA, DAL...everywhere.

He must of been like let me at least get a 3 off in the air and hope for the best. I did not like the shot attempt but i can understand the moments leading up to that situation where he would be like your damned if you do and your damned if you dont.
No man, it was a stupid shot among many that the Knicks were chucking up

Tony Douglas made a 3 that was very low IQ. He didnt pass the ball nor did he look for anyone, he dribbled down to the 3pt line and took the shot immediately. Chauncey did it too before he wont out and others followed suit.

They just made alot of stupid plays, but at the same time, it made them lose their lead.

Again, all fine with me because im not a Knicks bandwagon hopper just because they got melo and amare (def enjoy watching them play though)
but as I said, Ray makes a great shot, not uncommon of him.. thats fine, the they bobble the rules however they want to, to fit how they want to call any given play. Its just ridiculous

and believe me, it wouldnt be said over and over IF they werent doing it over and over.

I agree with that. Boston and LA are the two specific examples that seem to get the favorable cooking more often than other teams. It's something that a lot of Cs fans don't want to admit, but its true and its helped them just as much as it has hurt them when playing against LA or Lebron. It's the nature of the game.

Which makes me ask, if you see a pattern of this happening all of the time, how can it just be human element only? Its like, we KNOW for a FACT that superstars get calls, yet we still say they dont show any bias or favortism and anyone saying anything about the refs are crazy.... REALLY?

Refs are going to make bad calls, its a part of the game man, it has been for a long time...thats why I dont understand "this is why I dont like the NBA NOW" Its BEEN this way. This isnt new. Its just what people decide to focus on now...

My mentality has always been that you play on.

Tim Duncan got some of the most ridiculous fouls called on him that ive seen the entire year yesterday, AT HOME. Completely changed the way he effected the game. Hows that for superstar treatment..

basketballs one of the toughest games to call, so even "at least be consistent" is easier said than done.

                              **** happens, play ball
