Re: Western Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
I see it that way as well. But you know sometimes small things like this could carry for a game or two. If they have another game or two like that though I could see it becoming more of a problem.Comment

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
Im glad KD talked to him...***ssell can be a bonehead sometimes...
If your talking about contending, your PG has to know when to be aggressive and when to be a distributor
They are great friends off court so I dont see it be a lingering thing thoughComment

Actually I don't know about that Nene situation above.
I just watched it over a few times and I don't think he threw him down. It looks more like Perk lost his balance or tripped over Nene's leg. Also, I've seen plenty of times where tie ups like that are no-calls, as they probably should be.
Maybe I'm going blind, but I don't think they should have called a foul.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

I'm telling you, SA/Memphis has LA/PHX written all over it.
Hopefully I'm wrong and we can all finally put the Spurs to bed. They've been there for years now but people still get upset when you don't include them as for sure favorites. I never gave one crap they won 60 or whatever games.Comment

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
Are you nuts? This is exactly the problem... you dont allow something like that to go on and say when and when not its a foul. A foul is a foul period, especially tangling someone up and throwing him down
Its thinking like this that I dont understand, especially in a tight situation.. its not the refs jobs to start giving private interpretation of the rulesComment

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
Not sure whos complaining about that Ex lol....you must be looking in the Spurs forums for the homers...
Ive seen a few people here, (not even Spurs fans) mention that the Spurs are under the radar.....and they were...nothing new, is been like that since 03
Your beating a horse that doesnt exist...
If #1 seeds shouldnt be expected to win, I dont know what to tell you....there is a reason the series will be considered an "upset"Comment

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
I'm not making this up out of nowhere haha.
I've seen people here and plenty of non Spurs fans on other boards get upset when anyone at all discounts in any way.
Anyway I'm hoping Memphis doesn't piss themselves and finishes this off.
Nothing like an 8 seed beating a 1 seed. Nothing like it.
OKC would then have Denver and Memphis. They better make the conference finals if that's the case. That would be one huge disappointment in my eyes if they didn't.Comment

Nothing like it indeed.
A part of me just wants MEM to finish us....
Im mentally preparing myself for dog days in San Antonio at this point...
OKC should beat the wheels off of MemphisComment

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
They're not done yet man. I'm already prepared for them to win 3 straight and then beat OKC in 5 or 6 lmao.
Oh and everyone going hard on Russy, I'm not loving his shot selection but I'm loving that heart. As I've always admired, he aint afraid. That's someone I'll take on my squad any day and in the regular season he was making those with regularity. Someone check his clutch stats or something.
He'll adjust accordingly [get KD the ball lol] and that's what separates him from others IMO but I love his confidence.Comment

This. There was no slamming or throwing Perkins on the ground. They got tangled up Perkins lost his balanced. That is a no call. You see it all the time when guys get tangled up and the refs just just seperate them and keep it moving.Comment

You could see last night that Westbrook wasn't even thinking about giving up the ball. He was just letting it fly from anywhere. Again if he was attacking the basket and drawing fouls then I wouldn't have that big of a problem but when he is jacking up threes then somebody needs to let him know that is not his game.Comment

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
It's not his heart that's being questioned it's his brain that's being questioned. You are the PG the de facto court leader and decision maker. If he's out there not staying within his role he's putting his team at risk. He doesn't go all Iverson at the end of the game they most likely would have swept Denver.
He wasn't making pull up threes with any kind of regularity. That is the biggest problem I have with it. If he would have attacked the rack then that is one thing but he has no business trying pull up threes from well behind the line. There is no reason for Durant not to touch the ball during those attempts.

That's not to defend his shot selection last night, as I said I don't love that at all. Obviously you would rather have him look to KD a bit more and/or to tone it down a bit with the Kobe/hero shots.
My point is he had a brain fart in a series up 3-0. I'm gonna criticize him to a point, but in the end he's gonna be OK in my eyes. He doesn't care about how big a situation it is, he wants the ball. I want him on my team and I want him to play with the same confidence. Even though KD seems to be clutch for the most part himself, I don't mind Russy's onions at all. Going forward I think we're gonna see a great competitive/clutch duo in KD/RussyComment
