It's virtually impossible for anyone not to score. That has almost nothing to do with anything in this thread.

The two names that came to mind were Rondo and Kidd.

I Agree 110 percent with Rondo & Kidd but i'd add a 3rd person to that & that is Kobe Bryant. You double Kobe he'll tear you up making smart passes & decisions with the ball, you don't box him out he could get 10 or more rebounds in a game, his on ball defense is solid,& his hustle is the best out of any other 2 Guard in the league. Basically just Kobe's presence alone reguardless of how bad a game he's having is a big impact.

agreed here. i think Noah should be added to this discussion. not saying he can 'dominate' a game... but i think he'd be on the short list ...

the jury is still out on Rondo i think

Is there a reason why guys like Tyler Hansborough or Tony Allen or Trevor Ariza are being mentioned as guys that can dominate a game without scoring a point?

If I'm gonna mention names in here, I'm at least gonna mention dudes that have done it consistently and not just dudes who've done it on occassion.

              Current: Rondo & Kidd

              All-Time: Dennis Rodman hands down.

                Apparently Serge Ibaka can.

I wouldn't put him on the list just yet, either.

I'm still trying to figure out how you get 9 blocks in a game. Let alone average 4.5 per game throughout an entire series.

Dwight Howard is the only one who would remotely come close to being that way.

There is a major difference between dominate a game and have a major impact on a game. There are alot of guys being mentioned in here that have never dominated a game let alone be able to dominate one without scoring a bucket. If we are actually talking about dominate then most of the guys mentioned here needs to be removed.

Ibaka is a perfect example. Yes he had 9 blocks last night and had a big impact on the game defensively but if Durant doesn't drop 41 they lose. Ibaka didn't dominate that game at all. Durant had the biggest impact on that game.

The only guys that really fits the bill is Kidd but in his younger days and Dwight Howard. I remember there was a game where Kidd actually tried to control the game and win without scoring a point and ended up with like 2 points. Rodman is one of the older guys who could possibly do it along with Bill Russell in his day.

Ibaka's level of play in the 4th was equal to Durant's in my opinion. His blocks on K-Mart and Nene saved the game. Especially the latter, because had he not blocked it, the Thunder would have been down by 11.

Equaled scoring almost half their points? Come on now (and I LOVE defense but that doesn't even make sense).

Ben Wallace in the early-mid 2000's with Detroit.

Right now, Rondo is the only one I can think of. Maybe Ron Artest because of his defense.
