Eh, I wouldn't go nuts just yet. Think about this. After the Celtics won their title with their Big Three. How many of us really expected them to be one and done? I know completely different ages and all, but did we really think they didn't have a chance to win at least two to four more titles with that group? How about this Lakers squad? We've seen it, it doesn't take but one postseason, one season, one series in the playoffs for some **** to go down and crash any teams title party aspirations.

The Heat are in their prime...their "big 3" has five good years ahead unless they have bad luck. Young or old, guys can get hurt...but "old" = much more likely.
I think we are going to see a Heat v Mavs finals...and that could go either way. The Mavs control the ball extremely well with J-Kidd the master at controlling the pace of the game. The Heat need turn overs. The Mavs have got the scorers + shot blockers to beat the Heat in the half court fairly comfortably.
Regardless, ...the Heat are going to be MUCH stronger next season IMO. The big 3 will have had more time together + you can bet right now they will replace scrubs like Juwan Howard + Dampier + Z has nothing left......they'll replace them with "Ring chasers" who are younger and much better.
Then the NBA is going to have a problem as they'll dominate...while everyone except Heat nut riders sleep from boredom.Comment

I had to google her yesterday after seeing the commercial so many times I thought my head was going to explode trying to decide if she was really that hot .. she is, case closed
Miami, don't play and finish this thing out.
I want to experience the internet after LeBron finally wins a ring. It's gonna be so fun.
Dude is filthy. People can name anyone they want other than James for MVP but I'd roll with this guy all the way. Been like that for the past 3 years or so.
Hopefully he finally hits some "clutch" shots though

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread
I've got respect for what Rondo is doing but I go so tired of the 24/7 Rondo watch in the game. I'm glad they toned it down in the 2nd half. Rondo interviews, Rondo camera cuts and the amazement of how someone plays injured.
As far as the game, guess Boston needed another 1-2 days. Out of juice.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread
James is great, but his game is so dependent upon his athleticism that he'll be quick to fade once he gets to his early thirties, if not his late twenties. Also, the gap between he and the next best player(whether that be Wade, Howard, or otherwise) is extremely exaggerated.Comment

I dunno, a lot of people say the same things you just said.
I don't think he's overrated at all, if anything it was Kobe that's been overrated all these years.
James has done things with less than any other superstar in the league. For several years now.
So even with what you just said, it doesn't take away from what he's displayed in his career thus far.
I do agree, once his athleticism leaves he's gonna need to fall back onto something else. That's not really what I am addressing though, I was just saying over the past 3 years he's been the best. Whether or not by a wide or slim margin, he's been the best. People IMO don't acknowledge that.Comment

Different scenario man...the Celtics were already very old and 'break down' was inevitable. KG went down...tonnes of nagging injuries.

Now, just Dwight needs some success.NBAComment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread
But how long will they be in their prime? Wade, my favourite player, is nearly 30 years old, has had severe injuries, has injuries every single season and his scoring depends a lot on his infiltration skills which require him to be quick and explosive. I don't see him be as effective as he his now for many years to come. I fear he'll lose some of his explosiveness and quickness and become much less of scorer in 1-2 years.
Wade just turned 29 in January, Bosh just turned 27, and LBJ is 26
im pretty sure ALL of Bostons big3 first got together in their 30's
not really comparing
but there will be no slowdown
barring injury they will get much better (imagine that) and win 3-5 championships over the next five years
wade has entered his prime (he's 29-he'll be there a while)
Bosh & LBJ are babies
this team will dominate for a long time to come
but i see the Bulls being really good for a while too
and if the Knicks get their heads out of their butts they are right up there also
boston is done i think, like L.A.
its a new era, in fact its now the LeBron James ERA embrace it!GO HEAT
GO RAYS
GO BUCS
GO GATORS

Wade will be 30 next season, which isn't exactly young in the world of professional athletics. Especially someone like Wade, whose been hampered by injury issues over the years. In a year or two his athleticism will fade, and so will his impact on the court.
LeBron, well, he's LeBron. We'll see.
Obviously, I'm biased, but I think OKC is in a much better position to be dominant over the next decade or so.Comment

Rondo really hurt the Celtics yesterday imo. And it goes beyond the missed layup towards the end there.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Lebron is the best player in the league, and has been for awhile. Until he wins a rings though, people will never think of him on an elite status. That's just how it is these days.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football
