lol I was thinking along those lines too.

IMO the guy should miss some significant time. Doesn't have to be 30 and I won't even set a number at this point to make me happy, but he should serve some time. Dude straight walked off the court like he didn't give a care that's what got me.

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread

Well, well, well. Haven't read any posts since Sunday Morning, so forgive me if I say some things that others have posted.

Just got back in town, was in the ATL Sunday. First off, Phil Jackson you will be missed. Greatest NBA coach ever, although I loathed your Laker teams for the most part.

Dallas, what a performance. What a shooting display and what a team display. Best ball movement and selflessness I have seen in the NBA for quite a while.

        Lakers.

This is par for the course for this group, been saying it for the last few years on here. They get beat, and they get cowardly and dirty. That's how Kobe has taught them to do, because in his mind that is "tough". Remember when he praised Bynum for what he did to Michael Beasley? And now (in the post game press conference), Kobe wants to blast Bynum for trying to hurt Berrea??? Bynum, was doing what his leader told him to do, and then his leader throws him under the bus for it. Hilarious.

I hope that the Mavs win it all.

Kobe praised Bynum after the Beasley incident? Link?

Kobe taught them to be dirty?

That sounds incredibly childish. The work day is going by so fast, keep this stuff coming.

I wanted to think it would be OK assuming there wouldn't be a lockout next year, but with the bridges being burned with Pau... I just don't foresee him ever gaining that bond and trust back with Kobe. I don't even know if he'll get that hunger back to win, he seems like a sensitive gentle giant type... who's already won two rings. He might be satisfied with what he's accomplished thus far.

Just wanted to say it's been a fun one with you guys and that I can say for the most part none of you ever really showed too much homerism. That's pretty impressive considering LA pretty much has the worse fanbase in sports.
That's a hellava sad post Ex. The Lakers usually find a way to stay competitive, but we might be in for a couple of down seasons. I hope not though. Back to the Smush Parker era?

Same to you fam. I was telling my pops yesterday that we have come as far as we could with this team. Time to rebuild like we did after Magic retired & Shaq was traded. May be a few years before we get back to contention but history shows we will be back. Idk how long this time might take but I know we have some pieces that we can trade that might soften the blow for the next 3 or 4 years.

The worse contract is actually Kobes because he due over 22 mil a year through 2013-2014. I don't believe his body will hold up til then but we will see. It all rides on the new CBA and if we will be able to trade anybody.

One positive note is that I can now go back to playing as the Lakers on 2k since they won't be the favorites anymore

I think its a problem with Pau because he's not from the US

Pau probably views intrusion into his personal life as a very serious thing
much more than people are making out of it..

Some things are more important than basketball to people...now that I think about Karl Malone said some years back, he was probably telling the truth now that we see this surfacing

I don't even think it matters where he's from. If someone causes your fiance to dump you, you're gonna be upset. And rightfully so. If your fiance dumps you, your work is going to be affected no matter how professional you may be. Couple the fact that he's a sensitive type personality, and it's a recipe for disaster.

It's a damn shame this is how it might end.

Something I am now recalling is that I never once saw Kobe/Pau share those intimate moments on the floor that I had seen over the past 3 years since Pau came. They would always go over to one another and talk about strategy and scenarios, just them two, I never saw that once all playoffs. Instead I saw an anemic and lifeless Gasol who wasn't communicating with anyone. Seemed like his head and soul were elsewhere.

It makes sense now, and I believe that report that Mrs. Bryant caused the breakup.

Yeah I know it doesn't matter where its from, but its probably even a much more sensitive thing to him being where he is from. People telling him to man up because of the situation, I understand...but as I said there are some things to some people more important than basketball.

Definitely. You know how it goes, people expect him to put that aside and be a man. Smh. Not everyone can do that so easily. Especially if it's true, that Bryant's wife caused it.

I feel like it can't end like this, it's just so unnecessary, but at the same time like I said before, it would be a fitting end to Bryant's reign in LA.
