Thats funny because they seem to market against this.. even ignoring alot of teams, or putting one or two teams on national tv for about half the season while other teams get 1 or 2 games.

My wife is a spanish teacher, and has stated time and time again that she can't communicate with Portuguese speaking people. This comes after saying things like let's go to Portugal or Brazil.

Portuguese and Brazil have french language relationships mixed with spanish.

The spanish language also blends with tigalo, but my wife isn't able to effectively have intelligent dialogue speaking the native phillipino language.
I was going to say... they're similar but definitely not "the same" or even "close enough" when we're talking about a guy changing his zip code to be around people he can communicate with. Nene may want to be in Miami but I'd seriously doubt that'd be the reason.

I thought I heard rumors about the NBA looking into the possibility of letting teams put a franchise tag on its stars. That could / would prevent stuff like this.

          I don't speak Spanish. I am Australian.

However, I used to teach English...and in some of the classes were tonnes of students from Brazil and Spain and they were able to communicate easily in Spanish together. They'd even debate who spoke the better Spanish. Obviously some idioms and slang was different.

Re Nene, you also have to factor in the culture. The food, people etc...

As stated in the original post though, this is a 'hypothetical'. Nene likely will go wherever the $$$ are highest

            its ridiculous.

but why would Nene want to live in a spanish speaking community, he's brazilian and isn't brazil a portuguese speaking country?
I had 97 ovr Kyrie Irving sign with the heat after 5 years... in addition to the big Lithuanian center who's in the draft this year that they had drafted and is now at 81.
