If Shaq is so expendable, trade him to the Knicks for Dikembe Mutumbo and we'll see this Kobe-led team take the championship.

Shaq being expendable is the funniest thing I've heard about the NBA in a long time. I'm not sure why you're so hard on Kobe's jock.

Watching all the Lakers' games, game tapes, etc and you think they can do it without Shaq. Now that's comedy!
You should trade in those game tapes you have and buy a clue.

Stupid people are so funny this is the way they count their money............THIS YEARRRRRRR......get it, Malone, Payton......sad that people don't realize that Kobe is the 2nd best player in the NBA, next to Duncan....why, cause they don't even watch the Lakers handing an azz whooping to their team anymore, they only remember when the Daddy was doing it....watch some more, you'll see....go ask the Spurs and Wolves who was their #1 threat last year in the playoffs.....Duncan had fun with Shaq........the dominance that is Shaq is long gone.

Re: Once again behold the All Things KOBE thread...

I'd actually put Kobe fourth behind Shaq, Duncan, and Iverson. That's beside the point, though. Kobe's a tremendous basketball player. No doubt about it. He's one of the NBA's best. However, I think it's very telling when a player gets out of shape because he is bored. That's what I think happened with Shaq. It's a true testament to the guy's ability when he's still able to put up terrific numbers even though he is out of shape. Shaq can literally sleep walk through an NBA season and put up 27 points and 12 boards. I don't think any other player in the league can do that.

Also remember that Shaq takes a lot of pressure off of Kobe. Even though Kobe was the Lakers' leading scorer last year, he's still the second option on offense. All of the attention Shaq draws on the court makes the game much easier on all of his teammates, including Kobe.

I really don't care for Shaq or Kobe. I think that, despite his great career, Shaq is an under achiever. He's so much bigger than everybody else and he only averages 12 rebounds a game. He should average like 20! Kobe is just a ball hog. Guys like Jordan, McGrady, and Iverson have, or had, to shoot the ball every possession because their teams are, or were, no good. I've seen Kobe pull up for a 19-foot jumper three seconds into the shot clock. Sure he makes some of those shots, but there's absolutely no reason why Shaq shouldn't get the ball in the post every possession. The other thing I have against Kobe is the fact that he's the last barrier between the union of Vanessa and I. Well that and 3,000 miles, but he's still a bastard anyway.

Last thing. ATrillionaire I'm curious as to if you believe that Kobe is right now better than Jordan was in his prime. I like to hear your thoughts on that subject if you don't mind.

First off, last year Shaq wasn't the #1 option, watch closely and on almost every play down the court Shaq was setting high picks for Kobe......and Hell no I don't think Kobe is better than Jordan in his prime, c'mon, what I do think though is that if the Lakers were facing the Bulls in a playoff series, Jordan's impact on the games wouldn't differ much from Kobe's...but I'll never dispute what Jordan has done in his career...I wouldn't even know who to cheer for, Jordan was my favorite player, now I can't stand him.

wonder why people call kobe a ball hog when pierce iverson and tmac shoot just as much, if not more than him...not to mention the fact that he has a better shooting percentage than all of those guys, with the exception of Tmac, I think.

And if Iverson, Pierce, Tmac, etc., played with Shaq, do you think they'd take the same amount of shots?
