KD will win rings once he gets the coach he deserves.

Maybe. Brooks is probably the worst coach in the league next to McHale. After this year I could see them finally replacing him and Perkins.

I don't think he's quite that bad, mainly just offensively he's lacking.. Better than Mike Brown for sure too lol.

Would love to see both Durant and Melo in an upgraded offensive system.. Both would have to change their games somewhat.. Not sure how capable Melo is of doing that, but I think Durant would.

Same here..Melo would fit a Kobe role perfectly, and Durant would fit a LeBron role..but neither of them are pushed to be that player.

Give Carmelo that 2009-2010 Lakers Finals team and I think they still win both titles because that's he kind of player Melo is.

I'm sitting here feeling like Kash for Durant..I just want him to be more than a scorer because scoring comes so easy to him. We've seen too many great scorers that get comfortable being a scorer and never improve in other areas, just hope Durant doesn't pan out that way. Thunder-Heat should be good tomorrow, but I have to work so won't get to watch it.

I think Durant has the potential to be a top 3 player to ever play the game. This dude averaged 30/8/3 at 21 years old. He is just 25 and is now averaging 31/8/5 on 51/42/88 %. He's just making it look so easy and has improved EVERY YEAR. All he needs is to improve his passing ability and vision and he's going to shut down the league. Proud that he's a fellow DC boy.

Come on man are we serious right now?

I'll give it to you..you said potential. Top 10 probably but top 3? That's ridiculous.

I'll give him his props when he shows significant improvement on his defense. No way is an offensive player going to be a top 3 of all time.

I'm not into writing novels on here so I'll just simply say Kevin Durant. Melo is nasty, but give me the extra length(that's what she said) and extra athleticism.

Kevin Durant is close to another 50/40/90 season and has been the most efficient player this year. What more do you want.

Also he's 6th in Defensive Win Shares this season and Top 20 in Defensive Rating. So Yeah he's improved on the defensive end.

I fully believe that he COULD become a top 3 player. He has all the tools and skill to do so. He could become a great defender with his length and quickness and a great passer with his bball IQ. Whether it happens, IDK.

Does this guy do nothing but hate on KD seriously?

KD is already more then a scorer obviously you have not been watching the games

The other knock on Melo and his iso-heavy play is the post season. You face better defenses and in general defense is more intense. Thus far in NYC the post season has not been kind to Melo in terms of efficiency. Granted he hasn't had much help.

His career post season numbers in NY - FG at 40% and 3PT a tick under 30%.

Well Melo doesn't have the help nor does he get 15 free throws a game

True, but part if it is that he's never been great at drawing fouls. It's pretty damn easy to earn a whistle in today's NBA so that's saying something. The whole "barrel into a ton of defenders and hope for a call" doesn't work for him.

I don't know about that he gets hit a lot refs just don't call it ..it helps KD that hes 6'10 and skinny when he gets hit/touched they see it right away

I've gone through this with a ton of my fellow Knick fans...since he's been here it's been a constant topic of conversation that Melo doesn't get calls. I just don't see it that way, he forces a ton of stuff in traffic/in the paint and shouldn't be rewarded.
