      ESPN is a joke

Paul and LeBron ahead of Dirk based on what Flash?

It can't be based on actual numbers and effeciency....

After the Finals how can LeBron even be considered the #1 player....I understand he might be the most physically gifted but that doesn't mean he's the best player when it's time to suit up and perform

I personally would say Dwight Howard followed by Wade and Dirk....

But IMO there's no way LeBron should be ahead of Dirk cosidering he just got his azzzz handed to him by Dirk and a bunch avg role players at best

So your saying KD plays defense that's why he's higher then Dirk?

Shawn Marion looked like an All-Star with KD defending him this post season

and based on that comment why is Monta Ellis ranked 9th if players are penalized by you for not giving effort on defense

Lebron is the most versatile player in the history of the NBA?

Do people realize the NBA was around before the year 2005?

List is a joke but seeing who it's coming from, that's a not surprise.

LOL @ Blake being #10 though.

yea Blake at 10 is kind of premature, but I must say I will not be surprise if he's a legit top 10 player in the very near future...I mean dude did average 20+ and 10+ on pure athleticism.

This has to be like "keeper league" criteria or something.

Kobe is not 7th on this list. No way, no how. Whoever thinks he's that low is an abject moron.

And Dirk was better than #5 even before the playoff run.

                      Skip Bayless @RealSkipBayless

My NBA Top 10: DWade, KDurant, Kobe, Dirk, Melo, LeBron, DHoward, DRose, CPIII, PPierce. Nearly made KD 1. Kobe 4 only on legacy/jewelry.
Skip Bayless would like to remind us that Carmelo is better than Howard, Chris Paul, Rose and LeBron.

I think this list is the most insane.

I agree with ESPN's top 10 except I think Dirk should be at least #4, and I'm not sure D-Will or Griffin would be in my top 10, but they're close.

Edit: And I still think it's too hard to rank them 1-10 like that. I think it's more accurate with tiers right now:

Tier 1: LeBron, Howard, Dirk, Wade
Tier 2: Durant, Rose, Kobe, Paul
And then so on and so forth.
                        NFL: Bills
                        NBA: Bucks
                        MLB: Cubs
                        NCAA: Syracuse
                        Soccer: USMNT/DC United

I don't get the Durant love fest

He's so much like George Gervin it's not even funny....and no one ever thought Gervin was a top 10 player just because he could score the ball

what exactly does Durant do that Gervin didn't do?

I expect him to be a high volume shooter and scorer throughout his career but is he really better then T-Mac was in his prime and T-Mac not got that kind of love yet he did more things beyond scoring than Durant has done

McGrady was consistently mentioned in the top 5 ( with Duncan, O'Neal, Bryant and Garnett) in his prime. The "lovefest" is valid because Durant is not only a scorer, but he is an above average defender (especially help side) and great rebounder at his position. He's also already led his team to the western conference finals in his 3rd year.

                              My (revised) top 10:

                              1. LeBron
