at all of this, while I understand your reactions please spare me the ghetto ****. Nobody knows where anyone's lived nor experienced.

Kids? Looked like a bunch of grown men to me getting overly excited about the NBA's leading scorer going HAM on some mere street ballers.

Like I said, get excited. Run out onto the court? Whatever. I'm not really that serious about it, I was making an observation. Did I say sit on your hands while everyone's going crazy? Words into mouths again I see, not surprising at all.

To take it to that level that you did czar is as equally as disappointing. Smh

You can STILL see Jeremy Hazell's giant *** ears in a tiny YouTube vid.

And was that Jessie Sapp on the sideline towards the end?

Same here, I don't regret the past six minutes. KD's J is so damn smooth, and the atmosphere was great. Wish I had been there with my fellow peasants.

Ex. You are way off, man! I have been to many Rucker Park/City College, summer league basketball games. Rucker is like the mecca of streetball, Kobe has been there, Iverson, Vince Carter, Melo etc...Some of those "streetballers" as you call them have totally embarassed NBA players, trust me on that one. As a New Yorker, I must tell you Rucker is pure energy and entertainment, every NBA player that plays out there knows his rep is on the line. Durant represented, it is a beautiful thing.

I think the average bball fan knows what goes on at the Rucker.

Kobe and Vince did not get embarrassed. Kobe played on a bad ankle and in the rain but still showed love and got his.

Vince shut Gacuhos down, I don't recall him ever going to the Rucker.

Why don't you guys cite some examples of NBA guys getting "embarrassed" at the Rucker and tell me who exactly played against KD.

Re: Kevin Durant Unleashed the Fury at Rucker Park Last Night

Looks like KD played the night after in Manhattan in a Pro City game.

KD shot awful but ended up with 41. John Lucas III, yes, John Lucas III scored 60 points. Let me go ahead and make a thread about that.

Bottom line is, any above average NBA player would put up 50+ in these games. I never said don't be excited or don't be entertained or don't be impressed. I never made any sort of demographic reference either. I'm saying these things should be expected.

Regardless your entitled to your opinion as I am mine although my toungue in cheek comment on the ghetto were meant to bring a lightness to the conversation it seemed to me that your description of the events as you saw them lacked perspective.

I think the rest of my earlier post lends itself to that argument.

I still can't believe you called them peasants.

I mean, are we really that sensitive? I guess so based on all of the responses. I don't apologize because that's what I would say around anyone watching the video with me in person. But I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone out there as I respect most of you, including da czar

Vince was def at the Rucker, though I dont remember him being embarrased....

I do remember Lloyd Daniels giving Lamar Odom the business though lol

I mean, its not a big deal whether anyone enjoys it or not....but whether youve been to, played at or even seen some footage of Rucker Park....you cant deny the atmosphere....that goes for any ballplayer, big or small, they want to put on a show out there...

Re: Kevin Durant Unleashed the Fury at Rucker Park Last Night

After seeing that all I gotta say is wow! You know sometimes because I watch the NBA all the time I forget just how special these guys are. KD drops 50+ on NBA talent and that's amazing but what was really great to see in this video was the appreciation the crowd had for his talent.

They weren't saying "whatever its KD that's just what he does." They were giving him respect and love because the guy was doin it on THEIR court. He came out and put on a show that some of those people are going to talk about for a while.

It's great to see talent and individual performances like those respected for what they are. Put away all the lack of NBA talent and just look at the actual performance and you can see why they were excited. The guy dropped 60+ that's amazing and I guarantee if anyone else dropped that much they would be going crazy too. Because it was all about the feat itself not the talent he was playing against.

Ok.I got one game that comes to mind. I am going to go back in time a bit. Mark Jackson vs Tip Dog (local Harlem Legend, he taught Stephen Marbury and others the art of the handle) He totally made Mark look stupid trying to stay in front of him. Mark knew he could'nt check him, the whole place knew Mark could'nt check him. This was back in the day when the Block Gm's (drug dealers) used to form the teams and bet on the games.

I agree with you in regards to current Rucker park players, the talent has dropped off a bit, but back when Tip Dog, Master Rob, Mike Boogie, D-Mac, The Helicopter, and Sam Worthen (Mr Excitement) used to play, many NBA players got embarassed out there.

Dude already had 50+ points and the crowd barely made a sound when he hit that first 3 in the clip. They didn't start going crazy till he hit the 3rd in a row.
4 threes in 4 possessions at the end of a game watching superstars go to work in a place where superstars rarely visit, is something to get excited about.
exactly, everyone got hype once he started just coming down and making all threes. I'm sure certain peasants were excited when someone dropped 80 sum points on a last place team....

agree with this completely, its like just cause it's not in an nba game we can go crazy when a guy catches fire, guess it's different when you watching on a video but live you just feed into the energy that players give and vice versa
