At Rucker Park?
Bottom line is, any above average NBA player would put up 50+ in these games. I never said don't be excited or don't be entertained or don't be impressed. I never made any sort of demographic reference either. I'm saying these things should be expected.
Really, because there's only been two players, ever, who've posted higher point totals at Rucker than 66. One of which was a legend, Joe Hammond, who dominated Dr. J posting 50 on him in a single half(J ended with 39, I believe), and had contracts to play for both the Nets and Lakers. Both of which he turned down. Amazing, considering he'd never played competitively post middle school.

But hey, anyone can do it, despite few having done it, I guess.

Honestly don't understand where you're coming from. I mean, It's Rucker Park.

If you don't think an above average NBA player can drop 50+ points in these exhibitions that's on you. Just because it hasn't happened more often doesn't mean squat. I give props to KD for showing love and playing hard because most NBA guys won't even show up, let alone put the effort that KD put in. That's why we haven't seen more of these displays. You're kidding yourself if you don't think it could easily happen consistently.

John Lucas played in a similar street ball game, I never said he played at the Rucker. I brought that up to show that mediocre NBA talent can and will go nuts against your summer league comp. I said it's not that impressive for these pros to go HAM in these summer league games.

Not to mention Rucker is nowhere near what it used to be.

Not sure what you don't comprehend about the fact that "only two players have ever posted higher point totals than 66 in a game at Rucker". But then, I guess that's on you.

It doesn't mean squat. It means it's a rarity. Again, not sure where or why exactly your comprehension is failing.

I give props to KD for showing love and playing hard because most NBA guys won't even show up, let alone put the effort that KD put in.
But tons have. Some of the greatest Lakers of all time for example. Kareem, Wilt, and Kobe. As others have eluded to, tons of NBA stars, past and present, have taken their games to the Rucker. It's Rucker park. Something I'm shocked a basketball fan doesn't understand.

That's why we haven't seen more of these displays. You're kidding yourself if you don't think it could easily happen consistently.
We aren't speaking on hypotheticals, we're discussing matters of fact. Fact is, very few players have brought performances such as Durant did the other night.

Rucker Park =/= Baruch College

But I guess that's something only peasants understand.

Not to mention Rucker is nowhere near what it used to be.
Obviously, which is why it's been all over ESPN the past couple days.

Like I said, the comp isn't the same as back in the day. Not sure who exactly were playing when Wilt and Kareem played, but if you say they played with the same intensity and effort as KD did, then I believe you.

Kobe played in the rain and on a bad ankle, as I have already mentioned.

Vince, Iverson and I believe a few other 90's notable stars played but I can say none played with much drive to score. The effort certainly wasn't up to par as KD.

Once again, put above average NBA talent in these games and let's see the results. There hasn't been many examples and with what we have seen from them, none appeared to be as driven as KD. It's really not that hard to understand.

I would put money on the NBAers going crazy, if you wouldn't, then that's fine.

Obviously you completely misunderstood my Rucker comment.

Is the competition level the same as it's been? Who was playing in that game against KD? Anyone worth while?

Nobody said anything about no damn mecca of streetball. I don't give a damn about that

at trying to pound your chest about a damn streetball park.

Honestly... no one cares of this bickering.

You guys want to talk about it, PM. I've said it yesterday, I won't say it again today. Drop this topic out of this thread.

Peasant- a coarse, unsophisticated, boorish, uneducated person of little financial means.

Just in case you forgot what the word actually means.

Anyway KD was trying to get that reaction from the crowd. He was getting pumped up and playing to the crowd, amping them up. Hard not to like that kat.

You need to chill.. What KD did was fun to watch and cool to see, no reason to just consistently hate on him just because he didn't do it against NBA All-Stars.

No KD hate at all actually. I love him. I definitely give him his props for dropping 66.

I just think a lot of less talented NBA players could put up 50+ if they tried. That's all.

Chill out? OK bud.

I thought it was a cool video and have no problem with the fans getting excited. The only problem I had was with that lame *** guy on the mic trying to do some sort of stupid commentary. Repeating, "I AM!" along with the same tired *** catchphrases over and over again doesn't make you anything but annoying.
