03-04 Clippers

How do you guys feel about this years Cliipers ? I was just looking at their rotation, and they might score aLOT of points this year. Quentin Richardson and Corey Maggette are both explosive scoreres, but then Marko Jaric is really good and obviously Elton Brand is an All-Star (Go Duke Alums), plus Eddie House Comes off the bench, and be scored I believe 63 points in a game for Arizona State back in college.

I like them this year(like always) and I know they can put up a lot points. But they have to get use to all the new players leaving and the new ones that just arrived for them. I also hope they can get adjusted to the new coach. If all those things go fine they will have a pretty good season.

The talent the Clips have are easily likeable, but they are still the Clips. I know people are raving over D.Sterling signing some of his guys back, but really it was other teams that got them signed. They'll be fun to watch, but they didn't drastically improve like the other WC teams have. That spells playoff troubles.

As much as I love the Clips, I just dunno if they'll make it this year. They lost most of their talent that they had gathered in the last 2 years. It started with D. Miles and ended with Lamar this summer. They still have really good players and could be a lot better, but the West is so stacked. I think if everyone gets on the same page, and they keep the core together for a while, then they could make the playoffs under Dunleavy within 3 years.

The Clippers did lose a lot, but I think it may have been addition by subtraction. I don't think they should have let everyone go, but Kandi and Miller didn't seem to be very happy.

I know that the players that are there wanted to be there. This is the first step to having a better team. Also, Dunleavy is a good coach.

I think they will have a much better record than last year if they stay injury free. It would be nice to see Wilcox get a little more time. Everybody should be improved. I saw a couple of the guys play this summer(Corey and Q) and their jumpers looked really good.

EB and CMags will show why they were paid. Q will play well to earn his contract. Jaric and Dooling will push each other and everybody else is playing for a name. looks like a really good chance to play well and sneak up on people.

Make it where? The playoffs If the Clippers make it very close to .500 I'll be extatic. Yeah the team is deffinitely improved from nothing else but dumping Kandi and Miller. Kandi was a cancer who made it known he didn't want to be there all last year, which worked out since he bairly played, but still not a good guy to have hanging around. Miller loved it week #1, then after that got down on the place real quick. Both of these guys didn't want to be there and that was obvious even on the court they did more to help the team lose with their on the court selfishness or just lack of fitting in (in Miller's case) than they ever did to help them win.

I guess you can't blame those guys for not wanting to be there, since even Maggette and Brand didn't wanna be there as they signed contracts to get out too. I think they'll be fine now that they're here and getting paid, but they're better charachter guys that the other two.

Loss of Odom, oh well. I just wish the Clips could have gotten something in a sign and trade for him. But that was too much money to pay someone for their "potential" when they're always hurt and have had "substance" issues in the past.

All that said the team should be better this year, but the key is finding a GO TO GUY. Last year they led going into the fourth a countless number of times only to lose the game at the end. The biggest problem, they had no one to get the ball to at the end of the game to close things out. Maggette and Q have the willingness to do it, and Maggs might even be good enough, but what this team needs is for Brand to step up and be the man. If Brand or Magggette can step up early and tell the team hop on my back we're gonna do somethings, then this team is on its way up. If not then it's gonna be a long six years, cause if they don't step up and do it early the only hope for this teams future might be Wilcox.
