Ely or Drobjnak will likely start at center from most reports. Wilcox will probably back up Brand. I don't think he'll have a chance to start at center.

I dunno if he weighs that much.

I saw him at Lawry's in Beverly Hills about 3 weeks ago, and he looked pretty much the same as he did last season. Damn he's a big guy.

Ely is a PF/C. He is 6'10" 260lbs. His primary position is PF, but he played center last season and did well. He will play more center this season and Coach Dunleavy has stated that he may be the starter at center.

They signed with other teams, but it was primarily to have a guaranteed amount of money. It was known that the clips don't negotiate if there is no "market value" for a player. I'm just saying that the people there did what they had to do to get paid.

I'm not sure about Maggette, I think he might actually be happier in LA, but I do know that Brand called up DS and asked if they were going to match, DS said they're matching for sure. So Brand decided at least I'm getting paid I've gotta be happy with that. I've heard him say in a few interviews that when he signed he was signing to leave and hoping the Clippers wouldn't match. Either way great character guy, and I'm happy he's there.

I think Ely will be the starter unless they pull something and get Dikembe. Kaman should be a good starter in time, but I'm still wondering why they drafted Ely and Wilcox in one year. Ely is decent, but I love the upside of Wilcox. Unfortunately all Wilcox can really play is the 4 and they've got Brand locked up there for 6 years so hopefully they can find a way to work Wilcox in, maybe splitting time at the 3 and 4, but I'd hate to see the guy leave only to breakout else where.
