I really think fans should rally against the NBA and the players, and when this season or next season starts, welcome the players and owners with 30 empty arenas.
In Charlotte, we have been "protesting" for years. If, the league starts again I am sure it will be very empty here.

        lol @ protesting.

You think the average moron NBA fan would do such a thing? Hell no.

LOL. What is the player's leverage? Stop hinting that they have leverage and actually say what leverage they have. They need the money. The large majority of players will have financial difficulty if they miss a season. The large majority desperately want to play right now. Most fans lay the blame on the players and there are few other outlets for them to play and few that will allow them to make the money they make in the nba.

          WHERE IS THE LEVERAGE?

Maybe not a boycott BUT I'm pretty sure fans ain't gonna be flocking to the arenas in droves once they start back up. This has really put a bad taste in the fans mouth and at least some of them will not be so fast to come back.

And best believe, if they happen to cancel the season there will be a significant number of people cancelling their season tickets for the 2011-2012 season.

It's not etiquette. It's public perception. The players think they're entitled to something they're not,I'm sure most people realize that,if not they soon will when all those Euro teams the players go to are bankrupt. If the owners did some of the things they could do the fans would turn on the owners too then no one wins. Replacements won't be viable and the only basketball will be at Rucker with the occasional Harlem Globetrotters game.

I think they will see a drop but not a huge one. Even me. I love the sport and have full season tickets to the Wizards. I'm pissed about this lockout but I'll be back. I like the sport too much. Plus its not like they are taking my money. I get a refund plus interest for every missed game.

As much as I don't want to, I agree with you.

But we shouldn't be that weak. We're acting like all those dumb girls who keep going back to the a-hole boyfriend after the 10th time he cheated on her and hit her for the 5th time last night... But we deserve it I guess

I'll be back too but it would be nice to see the fans make a point with their wallets, even if it's for a few games.

I totally understand that even if there's a mass organized boycott there will still be people in the stands that don't care and just want to see a game. It would make me feel better in some weird way though if I read in the paper that games across the league were drawing 5,000 fans a game for the first few weeks and getting really crappy tv ratings.

If it results in them losing another $100 million of revenue, at least I feel like the fans were heard.

                      wishful, ideologic thinking, I know.

Man most real fans watch from home anyway especially for big market teams and corporations have all those good seats for business

fans would, need to be, more creative

Everybody should protest by watching MLS and only going to MLS games for one month in the season. It's genius, they'll know this is serious business.
