Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
I mean the minimum amount of money an NBA player can earn is at least $400k (and players earning these are just complete scrubs who probably didn't even play more than 10 minutes last season)- that is about 8 times the salary of an average person. And what's worse is that you'd think these players would have saved some cash knowing that a lockout (for the past year) could potentially occur.
But in my opinion, I think the players that are saying this are just being over-dramatic and probably just trying to sway the fans and express how the lockout is affecting them.

If the vet minimum of 400k is living paycheck to paycheck... Now THAT's funny.Comment

Really good article, explaining why it's time for the players to go ahead and tap out. Everyone can see it, why can't the PU just give in, and save what's left of the season.
Im sure they have to know the more money lost the less they have to say we want more than what you're willing to give us
Its definitely time sensitive, and games are cancelled through what, Nov 30th?
2011 will be over if they dont, and they'll be at the table for the 2012 part of the season...go through January like that and its all gone for goodComment

Yeah I think they'll meet this week too, but at this point there shouldn't be a time where your saying: "no further talks are scheduled"Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
This is much different than the flat 50/50 offer the Union had a few weeks ago. As you can see the offers are getting worse for the players. They have this ridiculous dream that the owners are going to give in and give them 52 or even 51 but thats never gonna happen.
If a deal isnt done this week, I think after the new year is the earliest a deal will get done.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
I agree with that.. Its pretty much the same thing I was saying above
Time is not on the players side now, if anything its working against them
...and some of the lower tier players are going to start getting upsetComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
what really sucks is that November 15, my magical date is still a long ways off
tbh that is when everything comes to a head because it's the first official date that players will be missing paychecks
that's when things for them will start to get real
I personally don't care about the lockout in relation to the game, I care about the lockout in terms of something to watch on tv
nothing more/less tbh, players ain't winning this one
November 15 is when things get realComment

Sounds like both sides want George Cohen back in the room. My guess? The players will use that for an excuse to take a bad deal but can start the season.Too Old To Game Club
Urban Meyer is lol.Comment
