Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Why should they care about the fans? The fans will come running back no matter what waving fistfuls of cash. There is no penalty for what they're doing. They don't care. This is about billions of dollars, not about the fans.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
The season is done.
The players had their chance, time and again, to get a system done. The owners don't even want to accept this deal at this point and are probably not going to be willing to take any deal with changed system.
We are screwed. Greed and Pride is ruining this whole thing.
I've never seen a management vs employers/talent battle where each side deserved each other. You looking at the Chair MAN!
Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.Comment

The owners are more likely to tack it on the next CBA as a blood issue and pocket it themselves....lord knows billionares need their parking money...with their leverage and everything. It should help parity too.Comment

Simmons:
"Info I'd love to find out: would Jeffrey Kessler's law firm make millions if NBAPA decertifies? If so his sabotage routine makes more sense."
"Also: do players fully realize that Stern only controls a majority vote by owners for less than 8 more hrs? Today is D-Day by ALL accounts."
"PS: 13 owners WANT to screw over the players + cancel the season. Only takes 2 more to flip vote. Again today is D-Day. I am really worried."Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
In a perfect world the NBA lockout ends this season. ESPN fearing the worst case scenario drops them from their TV package. Meanwhile NBC and Roundball Rock, the opportunist that they are, come in at the midnight hour and sign a less than lucrative deal to return the NBA to NBC.
Yeah it ain't gonna happen, but I rather dream about this, than listen to day after day of circular arguments that have gotten neither side anywhere. I can't believe Wednesday has come and looks to be going and nothing is settled yet.Comment

"NBA and union WILL be meeting this afternoon, I'm told. Details still being arranged."Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
It's about time all of this gamesmanship and posturing going on between the owners and the union comes to a halt. I just want to see closure to this dispute, whether it leads to a good ending or a bad one.
