I have a weird mental image of Billy Hunter and David Stern laughing, feeding each other popcorn, and watching Harold and Kumar in 3D.

      Yeesh.

In-meeting updates difficult to gage, but person briefed on talks says they are "moving slowly. They're trying to get something done."

There've been "no blowups," the source said. Progress is slow, but the effort to reach an agreement is there.

As far as tangible progress? Another person directly involved wouldn't characterize it that way. Effort and progress are different issues.

Great job on the twitter updates tn3ll.

I am a little conflicted on the lockout. On one hand I want basketball, but there is a part of me that would like to see things like a hard cap and other things the hardliners want.

No deal was considered imminent, but talks were expected to extend late into the evening. The two sides have been meeting for 7.5 hours.

I just asked an NBPA source for a prediction: "I think we'll get really close tonight and then hammer out a deal tomorrow." We'll see.
