My source was briefed on talks earlier today, but hasn't heard anything new in last few hours. Info doesn't leak with small groups in room.

I dunno about this. I was under the impression that if there was no deal tonight it would be much longer until something is worked out. Maybe Stern and the union reach agreement but then the hardline owners do not accept it.

There is an interesting level of optimism among the NBA executive ranks regarding tonight's talks and how this night will end.

Even some agents who don't necessarily want a deal tonight are of the mind that one will be done. #falsehope?

Source believes its a good sign that Gilbert and Sarver are distancing themselves from hardline owners: "Is it damage control before deal?"

Growing optimism in the agent and front-office community that a deal will get done. One person briefed on talks "incredibly optimistic."
