Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
The players are absolutely, completely, and utterly delusional if they ever *EVER* thought 53% was even the least bit feasible for them. I don't think that anything short of the players foiling Doctor Doom and Magneto trying to conquer the world could get them a better deal than they got, and even if they could get a better deal at this point the marginal gain they would get isn't worth the risk if they're wrong. Is it worth calling their bluff and risking so much just so Fisher can pat himself on the back for getting some tiny itty-bitty concession?
I am 100% pro-player and I didn't want them to get railroaded and screwed here and they aren't, the offer right now is seemingly fair and the fact that Stern could have over 10 (about 13?) owners who hate it shows that the union didn't get completely broken. Seriously, if the players dont take this deal they'll be looking back at this in March saying "Damn I wish I had 50 instead of 47". Of course that said, with how this has gone so far I fully expect them to reject offer because idiocy has ruled the day on both sides.
Reading these tweets has me completely frustrated because it amazes me how some of these people on both sides don't get it. This is what happens when neither side trust the other and they both think that no matter what is presented the other side is screwing them anyway they can no matter how small. At this point it seems like both sides could offer exactly what the other wants and the receiving side would feel like they're being screwed ever so slightly.
Sorry that this rambled on but it's driving me nuts.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
...and Hunter and Fisher still wont take this to a player vote
but they can gather signatures for a decert? That right there is what makes absolutely no sense to me at all
It looks like somebody whether its agents or whoever it is just want a decert to happen no matter what
Truth of the matter is, the less days they have the worse the offer is going to get...they can forget about being upset about it now.. I'd asked for Hunter to be fired right on national tvComment

I guess JaVale McGee was paying close attention than Fisher thought because what he said was/is exactly the case with the players.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
there is a cabal of super-agents who have been working for months to bring about decertification...and they don't want it as leverage...they want actual decertification
the 4-5 days between now and when the player reps supposedly vote is a lot of time for those agents to monkey-wrench any chance of a season. And it's certain they will push hardComment

After the union fits Hunter for his cement shoes and tosses him off the boat, Derek Fisher should be the splash that follows him.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Remember his comments last month that basically hinted that the Union wasn't as "united" as they said they were and then Fisher and a few other players basically said McGee didn't know what the hell he was talking about because he was only at one meeting.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Do these random unnamed players even know whats in the new deal that was offered or the inner-workings yet? Them saying "if it's like the last one, we don't want it" isn't saying anything at all if they don't know all the details about the new deal.
I realize I'm putting way too much faith in David Stern and the owners for thinking that but if the union is bringing it to vote after flatly rejecting the previous it shows that something somehow changed for the better.
edit: Oh yeah thats the one thing everyone should take from this, the NBPA is coming off like a ramshackle mess of a union.
edit again: Prior to last weekend I had like 3 posts in this entire thread now I have 31. Yikes.Last edited by Taur3asi3; 11-11-2011, 03:42 AM.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment
