Actually News Corp and Comcast make just as much as Disney. Its possible that Fox or NBC could make a bid.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
I thought NBC did a phenomenal job with the intros to important games. However, it also helps NBC that ESPN has done a horrible job with its NBA coverage. I think the more fair question is which one has done a better job, NBA on NBC or NBA on TNT?"Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
I don't care if the NBA decided to air it's games on BET(surprised this hasn't been considered yet LOL), I just need somebody offer NBC a nice bit of $$$ to get that NBA on NBC theme from them. I'll take that instead if I can't get the NBA back on NBC.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
When NBC had the NBA, NBC, TNT, and TBS all showed games together with knowledgeable commentators
Now we have a bunch of overexcited fans who are allowed to make all kinds of ridiculous statements and no real personality the fans really connect with
The all around experience IMO was something better.. its something akin to us a young young kids when a charlie brown special would come on, they showed that screen that said "SPECIAL" with some funny music playing and you just knew you were about to watch something memorable... NBC had a great way of making you feel like you were about to watch something memorable, then the great coverage and terrific halftime shows interviews and stories came up... it was great
Now its a bunch of flashy lights, bad music and guys like Reggie Miller and Mark Jackson too impressed with their own voicesComment

To be fair, 23, we still have Hubie Brown. Thank god.
I wish Collins would get fired so we could hear him again. And at least Kerr is coming back to TNT.

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
LOL. I love the NBA forum....were it was always better in the past.
First, let me say I liked NBC's coverage. It was great at times but lets not go crazy. NBC had just as many "overexcited fans who make ridiculous statements" as ESPN does. Don't forget NBC had Bill Walton, Tom Tolbert, Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas as lead analysts at times during its NBA run.
People romanticize NBC because it was during the Jordan years.
Regarding ABC/ESPN, its not that bad. I don't like their studio hosts (Scott angers me and I dis like Jon Barry) but their play by play teams are pretty good. Turico and Brown are great at times and I liked the three man teams of Breen, Jackson and Van Gundy.
Unless another network throws a ****load of money at the NBA, the TV deal will probably remain with them. The NBA knows that the reason it gets so much attention on Sportscenter is because ESPN has a NBA contract (see how much attention Hockey gets on SC now that its not on ESPN).Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Are they going Breen and Van Gundy alone now, or are they adding a new face with them? Not sure I like Van Gundy and Breen by themselves, but they need more than a guy who says "mama there goes that man" too.Too Old To Game Club

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
I just get tired of the TNT crew man....they can be funny.....but there are times where they will go through 3-4 highlights and not even talk about basketball, lol
I don't want all statistics and hardcore analysis...but I wouldn't mind some guys that can talk about the game w/o making ridiculous claims.....and Kenny Smith with his terrible analogys.....ugh.Comment
