Seriously though, I am kind of surprised at the recent reaction. I thought THAT was why people were ready to buy the book. I would've been surprised if it was much more than a gossip piece used to talk trash about different people in Shaq's life.

Is it that people are surprised or the fact that other than the Lockout, there really isn't anything else to talk about? Let that marinate for a second lol

I ask again, how many great leaders are there today and who are they?

I can name you a bunch of Hall of Fame players who weren't thought of as "great leaders". Says something about the value of so called leadership eh
There isn't one universal leadership style that works everywhere, so I would say the idea being a "great leader" comes down to what style is being used and the situation it is being used in. Some teams need a guy to keep the immature guys in line, other teams need a guy that will be vocal because others won't be, etc. It really just comes down to the situation.

I agree. Pack made a thread on it.

My thing was dude was really saying Kobe never displayed any leadership. Dude was acting like people were falling over themselves calling Kobe a great leader, when that's obviously not the case. Some of the things that are said about Kobe in praise and critcism are wildly funny.

And people wonder why I hate the Lakers. Shaq and Kobe are two of the sketchiest people ever.

I don't think people wonder at all why you hate the Lakers.

They have made it easy to hate them over the past 15 or so years if not more. Shouldn't be a mystery as to why you or anyone else would not like them. Hate is a strong word though, lol. I wonder moreso why someone would hate a team or athlete that much, to that degree. It's your life for sure, but I feel bad for people who passionately hate an athlete or team.

I think there's a difference between sports related hate, and real-life hate of a person/thing. I'll use hate when I talk about the Redskins or Giants, but I don't actually hate anyone on those teams. I don't know them enough to make that kind of call.

Hating another person who hasn't committed a crime against you or your family or anyone and just plays a sport for a living? That's pretty pathetic and sad.

I don't just mean casual hate, I was talkin passionate hate.

I understand dislike for personalities and rivals. That's the nature of sports. I'm talkin about the next level.

I sorta agree/disagree with that because you do have cases where some are understandable and I don't think I need to reference any names if you know who I'm talking about.

Still don't get how you hate TO the way that you do. Dude isn't really a bad person. He can get under some people's skin with his attitude sometimes sure, but for the most part, he's a decent guy.

I don't really passionately HATE anybody in sports, but I do have guys that I just generally would prefer to see not succeed cause I don't care for the way they appear to present themselves.
