Never said he was man.

But it's sure a hell lot better than alternating Amar'e and Ronny Turiaf at the 5 and pretending like that's actually going to work. I'm not saying he'll transform them into the 07 Celtics...but it would be a step in that direction.

Maybe Hunter actually said something of common sense to Paul and told him to get his *** to training camp and let the chips fall where they may.

Mike Bresnahan: Lakers can't appeal to NBA office about Chris Paul trade block b/c the league considers the deal to have been nixed by N.O., not the NBA.

I think this same reasoning would be used if there is a lawsuit

I like Chandler alot but the reason he made such a difference in Dallas is because the whole team was committed to defense..Kidd,Marion,Dirk,DeShawn, etc. were constantly communicating and helping each other on d. If the rest of the team doesn't commit in NY like they did in Big D, Chandler's impact will be minute in positive effect and Knick fans will be complaining about another bad contract on the books. He ain't exactly Bill Russell man.

Hopefully this is where Mike Woodson comes into play.

That's because they can afford to spend because they are in a larger market.

The Bucks just can't spend the way the Lakers can.

Maybe the new CBA will be beneficial to the league like baseball's CBA. Everyone was tired of seeing the Yankees and the BRox in the playoffs. It's good once in awhile to see the Brewers, Twins mix up in the playoffs once in awhile.

I might agree with this if every Big market team was a hotspot that spent a lot of money and experienced success.

I'd rather hang onto him, and let him walk at the end of the season, then have sign somewhere (LA/NY) for less money. lol.

I kind of wish there was a stipulation in the new CBA that would allow no more than 1 max contract per team, and the next highest contract could be 80% of max, etc.

I actually agree with this, just to prevent the owners from spending too much money since most of them aren't smart enough or able to give out rational contracts.

You guys kill me. You tailor the argument to what ever suits u best. Now its a bad business deal. Not a damn one of you was talking about the business side of this before Stern killed the deal. We can go back 40 pages in this thread and see rows and rows of complaints about how this was a bad talent deal, how NO was getting screwed, how Pau wasn't worth that much, how NO is basically an 8 seed or not even a playoff team.

Now? Its all about how much money each team saved? Again we are talking about at most 10 million dollars on NO's side because ONCE AGAIN they have to spend 80% of the cap. Not a single one of you would be complaining about this if this was GSW making this same financial deal. Its not about the money. Its about who made the trade.

I know apparently yall are done talking about the Lakers but....co sign this dude.

We will see Dice. Sucks for Dallas. He should have been priority #1 for them. Can't believe they didn't open the vault for him. Hopefully they can atleast keep JJ.

Mario Chamlers and James Jones re signed with the Heat. Now they just need some big men. I'm surprised Mario didn't take a offer some where else. He must of had big and better deals out there. Pat Reily is working his magic again.

I thought this was hilarious:

Chris Paul has bad knees. Kobe Bryant is old. The loss of Odom and Gasol dramatically weakens the Lakers frontcourt. At least one smart guy thinks Stern did this to save the Lakers from themselves.

And maybe that’s the real conspiracy. Maybe David Stern realized the Lakers were getting the wrong end of the ugly stick and crashed in to save Jerry Buss from certain folly.
