Stern: ``I don't want to speak on the basketball side, but that particular one was weighed against Chris Paul's continued presence in NO.''
`The decision was taken that Chris Paul in New Orleans was more valuable than the trade that was being discussed,David Stern tells Bloomberg

I'm not sure what this trade will do for the moral of the Hornets fans who just hit the 10,000 season ticket mark. If this trade goes through selling fans Kevin Martin, Lamar Odom, Emeka Okafor, and Luis Scola will be difficult. Especially if we do struggle this year.

You guys aren't going to tank this year for sure if Chris Paul is still on the roster. I can even see a 7 spot again (especially with the way how teams have been revised this off season) it wouldn't be until after next year but I believe that if by that point the Hornets don't have an owner they get contracted (I really hope so).

Hey, I understand you sentiments. BUT if I was the Knicks GM, I'd unload Melo for Chris Paul. Just for the simple fact that Amare is much more compatible playing with Paul than Melo. I know Amare had a nice season last year. BUT his game would elevate twice as much if he had Paul running the point. We be seeing mid-2000's Amare again.

and as for chris paul, a lawsuit is ridiculous, the guy just wants to get his money and have his cake too

Somebody needs to tell him to shut up and finish his last year then he can go where he wants, problem solved... this immature madness is getting on my nerves
Not saying you have to like it but continued discussion about the Paul trade is very relevant. You will just have to wade through it the best that you can.

Will they be happy if Paul sits out and doesn't play?

That's what's sad about them right now. They've talked to all these guys, they're interested in all these guys, but they haven't actually offered them anything. If the players don't have any clue what you're going to do of course they're gonna do like Caron and sign elsewhere even if you're they're top preference.

I'm sorry man I just can't see trading half your team for a player and then trading said player one year later....

Like I said yesterday, I'd fear a Melo-Amar'e-Chandler lineup much more than I would a CP3-Melo-Amar'e lineup. Chandler is almost basically filling two needs(Defense and Rebounding) while doing most of the dirty work that Amar'e damn sure ain't like doing.

And it looks like now all 3 teams involved are going to David Stern asking him to go through with the trade... It's gonna get ugly.

Way too many varibles in the air right now. We only have 5 guys under contract not counting Marco Belinelli who's a RFA. It all depends on what trades could be made to put around Paul. Like I mentioned if we could snag a Gay if Memphis would move him for salary purposes and make a 3 or 4 year offer to Oden (then have him remain healthy and productive) we could make a real playoff push.

I think this deal will eventually go through though so I don't think it will matter.
