According to Chris Broussard, the Magic are considering filing tampering charges against the Nets and possibly the Rockets. Guess they talked to Dwight unofficially or something.

They could possibly know Dwight isn't an option now, so they're covering their bases. Wouldn't be wise to wait on a Howard decision and let Nene sign somewhere else.

Kings are giving Chuck Hayes 4 years $21.3 million.

These owners just can't help themselves with the spending.

Have to spend that money. They have to reach the cap floor somehow and its not like Nene or Chandler were coming to Sactown.

Chuck Hays at $5M per, I wouldn't be too terribly upset about. Chuck is an absolute hard nosed defender, adept on the offensive end, FT ability is not the greatest aspect of the game...

But honestly, that's not a TERRIBLE deal IMO.

Well, Tracy McGrady is supposed to be signing a deal with the Hawks.

            Unfortunately, this isn't 2002-2003.

I remembered hearing about that. Some teams have so much cap room, they HAVE to spend money just to get to the cap floor.

I'm pretty sure that Marcus Thornton deal is front-loaded. And Thornton is a good scorer, just has to develop his game. I liked him in NO though.

                  Grant Hill signed a 1-year, 6.5M deal...with the Suns.

Back from lunch any vetoing going on in here?

Sactown definitely should have spent for MT, I like his game and as mentioned Sacramento needed to hit the salary floor limit. Lots of young guys on rookie contracts to account for

How can New Orleans take on that much more new salary if they are trying to find a new owner...It would have put the Hornets extremely close to the cap limit

Stunned the Magic amnestied Arenas so quickly without using the potential to clear his contract by handcuffing him to Dwight. Magic had 7 days to wait and negotiate that one.

A potential owner only cares about future contracts not current contracts. Two of those deals expire this season (Odom and Dragic)

there's no way to tell what a potential owner would care about...

Rumors are whoever signs Nene has to sign Josh Howard too. Somehow they've become joined at the hip. If the Nets were to sign Nene and then have to sign Howard too, what does that do to their cap room, assuming Howard gets a typical bloated deal?
