The one LA got from Dallas is only worth about 8 million or Odom's contract for this year...

So i know they can't use that TE to absorb Hedo's contract going after Dwight....you can't combine the two TE's

But i don't know how much their other TE is worth....I'm guessing they might try to use it on Jameer Nelson instead of Hedo

8.9 for Odom, 5.5 for Sasha.

Don't tell that to the Trailblazers.

They can make a better off than the Lakers, no matter how much LA fans want to sell Bynum like he's the next Kareem.

Still think the Bulls should get involved. They can offer a better package than either of these teams, period.
Maybe Dwight isn't insisting on having all star team mates? I don't think he would mind being the best player on the LA Lakers squad, even if it goes into a brief rebuilding mode.

I don't think anyone called Bynum the next Kareem, not even close...

P.S. Have no idea what Mitch is doing, here anxiously waiting and hoping.
I just wish we could have traded Odom for a higher draft pick to a team that doesn't really need/want young talent but could use a (assuming he stops being emotional) solid Foward, perenial 6th man of the year candidate.

Mark Cuban isn't dumb enough to help the Lakers get Dwight Howard.

            Rose/Hamilton (Maybe)/Deng/Boozer/Howard

No team wants to see that lineup, I can promise you that. If Howard is really dreaming of ships, then Chicago is the place he should want to be.
It would be better without Boozer and his contract, but guess he can hold the fort down for yall untill Gibson (hopefully) becomes a star.

Otis Smith could definitely drive up the asking price by getting Chicago involved.
We wouldn't give up Asik, he's been developing nicely and the Bulls are probably gonna expand his role even further this year.

I'd wonder how the Bulls could take on Turk's contract though. Maybe use the amnesty on him? Not sure, as the only way would be to give Luol Deng and his salary and possibly Ronnie Brewer.

Just glad that Mitch didn't let this whole thing lose focus on the fact that D12 made much more sense than CP to begin with. Think he thought he had a legitimate crack at landing both and couldn't let go of the dream (I'd assume he was very close, even though now everyone will say he wasn't. 48 hours ago everyone was complaining the Lakers still had the parts to go after Howard and that the CP trade was lopsided).

Think Mitch is trying to fill out some roster spots with the TPE's. I like the 3 1sts added into the trade for Howard quite a bit. Would give Magic 3 1sts in a stacked draft.

Confirmed: David Stern did in fact shoot down the second deal that was proposed for CP3, which caused the Lakers to quickly shift gears.

possibly but i also heard the Kings would be interested in getting dallas to do a S&T of JJB for Dalembert

now I'm not a big fan of Dalembert but hey if dallas is going to lose all of their Free-agents they might aswell get something in return

Their lineup would be deep again

                    Haywood/Dalembert/ Mahinimi
                    Dirk/Odom
                    Carter/Marion/Brewer
                    Fernandez/Terry
                    Kidd/Roddy Beaubois

Yes Marion is returning to the bench and the Mavs system is going to slot Carter at SF

That bench will have Odom, Marion, Terry and possibly Dalembert which is arguably going to be the deepest bench in the NBA

This Odom trade doesn't help the Lakers get D. Howard if the Magic are insisting on including Turk in the deal. And no, they can't combine the Sasha and Odom exceptions in order to do so per ESPN's John Hollinger.

@johnhollinger - Have had about 50 questions on this already -- NO, you canNOT combine Vujacic trade exception with this one.
@johnhollinger - Any exception created by dealing Odom isn't big enough to take in Turkoglu. I'm not seeing LA's endgame here, nor why Dallas would help.

Can't wait to hear the sour grapes in here if LA get's neither Paul or Howard.

Or the collective silence. Either one will be satisfying lol

Mark Cuban is worried about his team not the Lakers....

you don't turn down good players based on what you think the Lakers might do...

Cuban was able to get good player for basically free why would he turn it down?

Not that agree with it being Odom (he's a cry baby) but Odom is a good player he's just a mess mentally right now...but what was Cuban suppose to do if he couldn't get Howard himself and the Lakers came to him and said hey we will give you Odom for that $12 million TE and some junk 1st round pick

Cuban see's this a way to make his team deeper again with long term contract tied into into

Dallas has now added Odom, Carter and a young prospect Branden Wright to their rotation all for nothing...

I for one am glad to see these cp3 talks done and over with. LA usually don't make stupid moves, they are always strategic... so I believe something good will come from this. Either we get Howard or if can keep Bynum,Gasol and get a good pg.....I'll be happy.
