Although Nene is probably the best FA on the market, I question him a bit. He's another one of those big guys who doesn't seem to raise his game during the playoffs. In fact I think the dude kind of vanishes once the lights come on.

But if he lands in either one of those cities, that would make them pretty damn scary on paper.
I don't see how Miami or Dallas can afford Nene. Unless he takes a significant paycut OR the Mavs/Heat magically reduce significant payroll numbers.

I wanna know which one of the other 4 teams is going to be the idiot and give this man a max deal. Because you know it's going to happen.

I'd say Golden State gives him the MAX deal. I don't think the Warriors had an All-star capable center since Nate Thurmond.

How can Miami or Dallas work a deal to sign him? They can't. Unless he plays for $1.00.

Kyle Singler(notes), the 33rd overall pick in the June NBA draft, is nearing an agreement with Real Madrid and won’t play for the Detroit Pistons this season, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Singler, a forward out of Duke, will sign a contract for the remainder of the season in the Spanish ACB League, replacing the Dallas Mavericks’ Rudy Fernandez(notes) on the Real Madrid roster.

After an outstanding showing with Alicante in the same league – where he averaged a team-leading 15 points on 47 percent shooting – Singler decided to take the Real Madrid offer on Tuesday. A combination of his comfort level in Spain and a salary higher than that of most second-round draft picks convinced him to finish the season there, sources said.

Offering Nene max is ridiculous although he is a top 10 center due to the weakness of the position....
I can see the Warriors offering him a deal that would give them a lot of power with David Lee, but the Nets? Nene isn't a very good rebounder for his position, him playing alongside Brook Lopez is a disaster on the boards

How can the Nuggets have that much cap space, no players and not offer him a max contract?

I am not saying he's a max player. But for his own organization not to offer him one would be a slap in the face.

It makes sense for the Nuggets for the simple fact that if he's not worth a MAX deal then why pay him for the sake of keeping him on the team? It's the same mistake Atlanta did last year when they paid Joe Johnson a max deal, when Johnson is clearly not even a top 15 player right now.

While we agree he's not a max player, I can't see how paying a player a max contract just to do it makes sense. Things like that are why owners are needing to be saved from themselves in CBA situations like what we just saw. There's no way Nene is worth the maximum amount of money an NBA player can make.

The question is, which Brandon Roy is the Bulls getting? If the Bulls was getting the pre-2010 Brandon Roy, I'd be saving a seat at Grant Park for the championship celebration. Brandon Roy now might not be so much of a nightmare for the Heat. It'll definitely be an upgrade for the Bulls BUT Wade doesn't have to worry too much about Roy taking him on with bad knees.

I think Roy would fit in nicely. Rose, Boozer, Roy, Deng, Noah? That's a beastly starting 5, a starting 5 where Roy won't need to always be -that- guy. He could realistically fall back as the third option on that team, and still have Deng as the fourth. Rose is going to continue to be dominant, and Boozer will continue to be Boozer. Even if he plays at the level he did last season, with adding Roy into that mix it just seems pretty solid. Can't tell me Roy isn't an upgrade over Bogans.

Or he can become the Lamar Odom of the 2. Alleviate some time off those knees. Still get plenty of playing time and be in the flow of things.

Still, with all of those teams under cap being able to pick him up through the waiver system, I highly doubt he falls into free agency if he is amnestied.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I think Roy would be a solid fit for the Bulls. Your explanation basically echos my thoughts. However, to call it a "dream" for the Bulls OR "nightmare" for the Heat is going a little far. NOW if Dwayne Wade was coming to the Bulls, then that would be the Bulls dream and the Heat's nightmare.
